I first tried Saperavi back in May downtown and was completely blown away. I instantly fell in love with their Georgian food. Seriously, I’ve been thinking about it ever since! So when they opened a new spot on the Upper East Side, I knew I had to go back right away. Good news: it was just as incredible.
Everything we ordered tasted so authentic and comforting. It felt like a warm hug on a plate.
Here’s what we shared:
• Assorted Pkhali: A bright, flavorful way to start.
• Imeruli Khachapuri: The highlight! That bread was pillowy, and the cheese inside was perfectly gooey and salty. You can't skip this.
• Chicken Tabaka: Crispy and delicious.
• Khinkali (Georgian dumplings): These were absolute flavor bombs—juicy and seasoned just right.
• Pelamushi: A uniquely sweet grape pudding for dessert. It was the perfect, light finish.
Honestly, eating that food in Manhattan, it felt like I was getting a truly authentic, little taste of the country of Georgia itself. That's how comforting and perfectly executed everything was.
If you're looking for a new cuisine to fall in love with, or just want food that feels like a home-cooked meal, Saperavi is definitely worth checking out.

Loved Georjan! Cozy vibes, super friendly staff, and the food was sooo delicious. Their specialty dishes are a must-try. Definitely going back!
Had a lovely experience here with my dad. We arrived a little early and enjoyed sitting at the bar for a glass of wine and lovely chat with Soso before dinner. The food was delicious, staff felt like family - a perfect dinner!
We will definitely be back the next time we visit NYC

This was one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in a long time! The food, the service and the atmosphere were just unmatched! I will start with the food - first we had eggplant rolls that had a bit of smoky flavor and they were so so fresh ( like everything in this restaurant). Elarji balls were full of cheese and with a great sauce added on the side. Potato Mushroom Ojakhuri was the best mushroom dish I tried - the soft mushrooms that are juicy and crispy wedge potatoes make a perfect combination. Then came Kubdari and again it was delicious. The dough was perfect and very thin which made it an exceptional dish. Chicken Skewer was also incredible with soft juicy chicken. We didn’t order the vegetables with them and they came with fries. Fries were crispy and well-seasoned. Lamb Chops were great - it is a good amount of them for the price being that they are on the most expensive on the menu. And the salad that comes with them is wow! The combination of their dressing, beats and greens just makes the dish stand out so well.
My main reason for coming to this restaurant was to try Khinkali as I have never had them in my whole life. They were just amazing - full of soup and meet! I really enjoyed a simple but yet enticing flavor of them. They come hot and you can see that they were just made.
A special note has to be said about the exceptional and friendly people that work there. Thank you for giving us a great experience. I am planning my next visit very soon!!!
This Georgian restaurant is a small and cozy place with a truly welcoming atmosphere. The service is excellent. The menu offers a great variety of dishes, and every single one I tried was absolutely delicious.
A special mention goes to our waiter, Sergey, who was outstanding — friendly, professional, and very helpful with recommendations. He really made the experience even more enjoyable.
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Georgian cuisine in a warm and comfortable setting!
