The food was ok- the waffles in the waffle chicken werent cooked properly. In terms of experience it was absolutely worse. The restaurant was empty and this drug addict was rolling joints and saying things while seating next to us and the waiter couldn’t do anything to take him out. Absolutely dont recommend this place.

We saw these pictures on this website and went to eat but apparently the menu recently changed. They had all friend chicken and some cheese burgers. The chicken was sooo dry that we couldn’t eat at all. The beef burgers had only cheese and pickles with no taste. We got no sauce at all beside any of our dishes we had 5 cheese burgers and 2 chicken waffles and 1 fries. When I asked for sauce they said its $2 and when I asked for ketchup they said you have to get fries which I did but never got the sauce with it. No soap in the washroom as well.

Meat and Bread is a nice small sandwich/burger restaurant on the Lower East Side. Although it is small, the decor and layout make up for it.
The food ordered today was the fried chicken sandwich, the ribeye sandwich with house sauce, classic cheeseburger, and garlic parm loaded fries. The fried chicken sandwich is a classic anywhere and meat and bread does it wonderfully. The bread choice for all the sandwiches is different from other restaurants. The ribeye sandwich was cooked to a tender medium which made the sandwich super juicy.
It was also paired perfectly with the house sauce. The cheeseburger was very juicy and full of flavor. Finally, the garlic parm loaded fries were just amazing and very filling.

The Cowgirl Burger is good but Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich was better. No masala fries though. Regular Fries is okay, nothing special.

BEST Lunch deal in Manhattan! Burger just may be low-key Top 5; Not your typical smash, more like a traditional backyard burger which is a nice change for the area. CULT fav.
Open kitchen at the bar counter.Dudes working the line and providing counter service are kind and funny. They're hustling making food and running the whole situation, so you're picking up your plates from the counter.I had the cowgirl for brunch. It was a solid choice. These folks take pride in what they do, and it's tasty.

I’m not easily impressed by restaurant food, but I really like this place. My daughter said the fried chicken was excellent and I thought the vegetarian options were flavorful and pleasantly atypical. Super friendly service, Northeast prices yes, but fair — especially for the neighborhood. Nice atmosphere with old Bollywood films silently playing on a projector screen. Also, great music.
