We love going out. Last night we found this delicious restaurant which friends recommended to us. We had a beautiful evening there with high-qulity meal and an efficient crew and a talented chef. We added this fine restaurant in our phone list and we will definitely visit again soon. Highly recommended.

This spot is my preferred one. I visit many restaurants but here I constantly return again and again. The crew is very welcoming and the cooking they cook is so yummy. I never decline to have a good dinner in this place. I highly recommend this place.

I had a fantastic experience in this place. We loved the wonderful environment and the menu. The staff are very amiable. I am happy we ultimately managed to visit this spot.

Not the most fantastic ramen place, but good enough to satisfy your ramen cravings if you found yourself in Midtown East. Noodles were nice and chewy. Ajitama wasn't very flavorful, maybe I came on an off night.

This place is fantastic! If I had one word to describe my experience at dinner here it would be this: unforgettable.

Small place but very good ramen. Def the best Tonkotsu Ramen in NY.

Simple. Tasty. Strong taste broth. Pork belly - two slices - is the only meat that came with the noodle soup. Oh, soft boiled egg too, at $2 more. We also ordered sides of pot stickers and chicken nuggets. All four of us liked it. We went twice in three days. Perfect for a rainy evening in NYC.

This place is a joke. BentOn Cafe becomes a Ramen-ya in the evening, but it stinks. We went in on a Friday night, and the place was empty. Despite being the only customers in the store, it still took them 25 minutes to bring out two bowls of ramen, plus the appetizer seaweed salad, which came out after the ramen. The only beer they have is Heineken for some baffling reason. A lady came in right after us and tried to order stuff to go. After 25 minutes, she still hadn't received her food, either. When she asked the waiter how much longer it would be, he told her it would be 20 minutes more. This place has a tiny little kitchen, and it seemed like the waiter was also helping prepare the food. The shoyu ramen was oddly sweet, but it tasted okay. The chashu pork was dry and had clearly been cooked a long time earlier and heated up. The ajitama was ice cold. The restaurant smelled like paint, wasn't particularly clean, and the seating area is unwelcoming at best. On top of all that the prices for their ramen are too expensive - similar in price to Momosan a few blocks away, which is a real restaurant and not some farkakte pop-up. Bow ramen, right down the street is much better, too. Stay away from this place. There are a hundred other Ramen-yas in Midtown East, all of which serve vastly better food in a much more timely fashion.

That was very nice ramen shop. Ramen was delicious. I think Menya-jiro is No1 ramen in NYC. I visited many ramen shop in manhattan but these ramen was warm soup ,very salty and taste was synthetic.

Great ramen in a small place. Go during ramen happy hour 5-7pm and get ramen at a nice price.

Menya-jiro is a dinner pop up restaurant that uses the Benton Cafe space at night. I'm familiar with the downtown Brooklyn location so I can vouch for tasty, good quality ramen, although I feel the prices are a dollar or two too high. This location serves the typical three ramen, several appetizers, and has seating for ten. I had the Kagoshima last night and was very satisfied with the big helping of bean sprouts, the perfectly cooked noodles, and the soup base, which you can drink up (not too salty!) I also like the Sakurajima, which is the spicy version, but I have trouble finishing all the soup. I wanted to get some appetizers too, (the takoyaki at the Brooklyn location is good) but I'll save that for another time. Right now, the location is pretty sleepy at night so you should have no problems getting a seat, even though the space is small. Service is excellent. I believe you can get the ramen to go during the lunch rush as well.

3 stars for food, 5 stars for service. I've passed by this small place several times and decided to try it this weekend when my mom was in town because she LOVES ramen. The menu is very limited, even though online it shows you can choose from many options for broth, protein, and toppings. There were basically only three broth options with only pork options for meat to go with that. I honestly don't eat a lot of ramen so maybe most ramen is pork based, but as someone who basically just eats chicken and fish, I was a bit disappointed, especially because I was expecting to explore many more options after perusing their online menu. In addition, the 1 of 2 chicken options (grilled chicken and scallops skewer) that was listed as an appetizer was out. The second chicken option was deep fried, which I don't do. I asked if it was possible to get this grilled as fried foods don't sit well with me, and they said no. A carb/sodium heavy, protein-less meal it was. The ramen was good, but not the best (the few times I've had ramen have been at amazing places) and my mom was not very impressed. However, our server was attentive and great from the start, cleaning up after people quickly so we could sit (very limited seating) and always being there to fill our waters.
