There were not many places open on Christmas Eve in New York City and I knew that this deli, now named the "9th Avenue Gourmet Deli", its third name change in five years, would be open. It was really busy that evening because everyone had the same idea. I ordered a Cheeseburger Platter, which was a large hamburger patty that was perfectly cooked and served with a large side of fries. I had the Chicken Fingers that was a nice sized portion of nicely breaded breast meat that was perfectly fried out also served with a large portion of fries. The portion sizes here are really large. The service was really nice and is always so friendly and organized. It is a great place for breakfast too.

The deli is located on a prominent corner location and provides a variety of nesessities (e.g. food staples, household items, sandwiches, etc.). It appears well stocked and the people who run it seem to pay close attention to what is selling (e.g. noticing what gets bought, buying the same/similar in their future supplier orders). I sometimes visit to pick up ice cream bars and noticed they had extended their selection to a wider variety and seemed to remember which flavors I generally pick. They have extended opening hours and are sometimes open even despite looking like they are closed for the day (i.e. they are inside the store, by speaking via a small glass window they have you can make verbal orders which are brought to the window.
