‘Neighborhood gem' located off the street, a little hidden under some scaffolding. Very nice ambiance with wonderful sushi rolls, marinated cod and tempura. Very friendly service. Will return!
Wonderful little hidden gem. Actually hidden under some construction but food was amazing.
This restaurant is tucked away. So you have to look to find it. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. My granddaughter had sushi and absolutely loved it. I will definitely return next time I'm in the City.
Joe was outstanding with his sushi and offered great conversation. Wano is a great dining experience!
Great food. Very quiet somewhat hard to find becsuse of scaffolding. Worth trying if youre looking for a quiet place.
One of the best dining experiences I have had in NY. The food was so fresh. The service was beyond exceptional. The portion sizes were perfect. The servers also gifted my Fiancé and I some whiskey tastings on the house! If you manage to make it out there, ask to be served by Henry!
Food was very good but service was lacking. Our plates were brought out at separate times with significant gaps between the two of us. At the end of lunch we were the last table still there and still had to request our bill.
This was the second time we've come to Wano for our Anniversary dinner. We were greeted by the host who said immediately said happy anniversary and sat us at our table. Our server was great, we got the Omakase for both of us. It was delicious! Course after course of fresh sashimi and sushi along with some cooked items like two different soups, two different courses on unagi (eel for those that don't know), and anniversary glass of sparkling wine for my wife and an extra glass of sake for me and then dessert which was house made mango sorbet along with more sake! The last sake was Yuzu infuse and tasted like fresh citrus that was so flavorful I could have had a whole bottle! Thank you to the staff and chef at Wano, we had an incredible meal!
Our miso cod entree was inedible. Other dishes average at best. Amber carpaccio was quite good
They had a small wine list but then didn't have anything we wanted available (around 6 different options). The wait staff wasn't very welcoming and didn't offer much hospitality. and the food was significantly overpriced for what it was.

Place was empty when we entered at 6:30, so wondering if it wasn't going to be a good experience, but in fact Wano exceeded expectations with super fresh sushi and hot black bass, like a kasu cod was excellent. Menu a bit limited but an easy res and servers were great.
We loved this authentic Japanese restaurant. Our server helped us choose apps and meals- and they were delicious! The fish cakes, pickled vegetables, fresh raw fish, young chicken and the salted cod were outstanding. We also found the matcha crème brûlée earthy and unusual for dessert. The server helped us find sake's that we had never tried. Great sake list! Must try place.
Granted it was Valentine's Day so set menus are usually overpriced and crappy but this was particularly bad. Mediocre sushi. Mediocre hot pot. Terrible service despite being uncrowded.
Fantastic Dinner. Outstanding experience at the counter with delicious omakase by Chef Shin. Quality of the food is top notch and Front of house staff was very knowledgeable and courteous. I'll be back.
The restaurant was booked for a private event and i was never notified. The client i was with had to stand outside in very cold weather. At the very least I should have gotten notification to cancel the reservation.
