Let’s say you want a sweet treat relatively late at night and find yourself in the East Village and find yourself reading a certain Eater article about the best dessert places near you. Please do not make the mistake I did and go to literally anywhere other than Milk(ing your hard earned money) Bar. If you want to pay 18 dollars for suspiciously salty soft serve in a cup with potentially two (2!!!!) false bottoms and a prepackaged cookie or slice of milk bar pie (pie crust), go right ahead! But if you prefer any semblance of reason or simply do not want to experience such disappointment at the end of your day, please either wait for the next day to come and satisfy your craving with any number of delicious nearby options or pop into a bodega and get yourself a well deserved ice cream sandwich, a dessert with more originality, flavor, and substance than anything sold at Milk Bar.

The ice cream was not even an ice cream. It felt like I was eating salt only. It tasted terrible. We had DIY, cookie cream sundae, and cookie cream swirl. The cookie cream swirl was plain vanilla ice cream with no cookies. They also tasted terrible. We had to throw all of them in a bin. I highly suggest not wasting your precious money on this “ice cream.”

Wonderful surprise sweet tastes. Small store with excellent cookies. The cold brew is very addictive and delicious. The compost cookie is too sweet for me but worth trying too.

I came to get ice cream 35 minutes before hand I'm told that the ice cream machine is down while I see the woman emptying out the ice cream in a bucket with a horrible

I guess the cookies were ok, but what a huge let down - everything was pre-packaged! I wanted a fresh, warm cookie - and for this price, they should be. At least offer the choice.

I love master chef and Christina, and so I was super disappointed by the quality of the cookie and the cake.

The magic touch and innovation of Christina Tosi feels long lost at the modern Milk Bar locations, which give off a very Hudson News airport store vibe. For $3.75 you can get a compost cookie that tastes akin to a deluxe grocery store cookie. As my husband put it, it’s got stale pretzel pieces, it’s doughy and very sweet, and nothing about it seems touched by a human hand. Not to mention that when I paid and left a tip…the cookie wasn’t even handed to me. I had to ask if I could take it. Bummer, since my first ever cereal milk ice cream experience at momofuku milk bar was mind blowingly good!

I'm not sure what you are supposed to eat here but I loved Christina Tosi on Masterchef so I wanted to try this place out. Came on a weekday night, there was no one here, and the place was a lot smaller than what I had originally anticipated. The menu was kind of confusing as I wasn't sure if things were cakes or sundaes or what not.I ordered the Cereal Milk Cup which is not a cake but a sundae and one of the more expensive sundaes I've had in New York. I thought the flavors were pretty interesting with its milk flavored ice cream and cornflakes that were a bit stale. When the ice cream melted, it did really taste breakfast milk and cereal BUT when the sundae was still solid, it didn't really taste much like milk. Does that make sense? I wish they had other ingredients on the sundae.Honestly a bit disappointed with my visit to Milk Bar and probably won't come back because the menu was too confusing.

This location is a very small storefront but has all the classic Milk Bar treats you can imagine in stock. They had a 3 cookies for $8.50 deal and I ended up trying their famous gluten-free cereal marshmallow cookie for the first time. They had a wonderfully chewy texture and convinced me that fruity pebbles and marshmallows are a match made in heaven. I only wish they offered gluten-free versions of their other cookie flavors.

Cereal ice cream is a hit in my books. This is the ice cream for all cereal milk lovers. I do think it is pricy for what it is and toppings are nice, but not for the added cost.

Milk bar will always be my favorite and only cake I eat!! I came here for a slice of the birthday cake and was very happy with how quick the service was, even for a Saturday night. The cake itself is so dense and decadent, and definitely only worth eating if you like very sweet dessert but this checks all the boxes! The ratio of cake to cream is perfect and the little cookie dough sugar balls on the top is a tasty addition. One slice is still very heavy, I could only have a couple of bites but this satisfies the dessert craving for MONTHS for me!!

Heard a lot about Milk Bar and seen their infamous cakes all over social media. Great place for desserts. HUGE fan of the cookies, especially cornflake and chocolate chip, best if you warm it in the microwave. We also got the vanilla ice cream with sprinkles and cornflakes on the side. Overall the ice cream was disappointing. It had a tart taste to it rather than creamy and rich.

This place is a little overpriced but the cookies are pretty good! Sadly they only had one gluten free option (packaged, not fresh) but their non-gluten free flavors were plentiful.

We tried the toasted marshmallow soft serve topped with toasted marshmallows. The icecream was so soft, creamy and delicious. The toased marshmallows added the perfect amount of crunch. The staff are super helpful.

I always see this place online, so I was excited to try it. I got an everything cookie and a blueberry cookie. The ice cream looked awesome but I was too full. I was impressed that there were real blueberries in my cookie. However, the taste was just ok. Same with the other cookie.
