My 2nd and likely last time dininf at Mischa. Nothing was terrible but everything was off. The black hummus, the hot dog, its chili side; all not right. I've eaten all of these dishes before. I brought an out of town visitor. I had to apologize to him after the meal. I don't know what wrong but if it's not fixed soon.....
The BEST halibut EVER, a true to-die-for! And the best Cesar salad I have ever had in North America ;)The drinks were also great! And the dessert, the sundae, OMGUPDATE:Unfortunately they’ve removed the halibut from their menu :((( I think that is a big mistake, and hope they bring it back.Good thing they still had the sundae dessert

I’m not convinced the $29 hot dog is a hot dog; it may be too smoky and garlic-drenched to qualify. Even if it’s just a sausage in a bun, though, it’s got to be the greatest sausage in a bun in the city. Black hummus, made with black chickpeas, black cumin seeds and black tahini, looks like something that a death-metal band would have in its backstage rider. Other than that, and the soft garlic twists for dipping, it is perfectly normal and delicious.
Mischa is way more than just a place that sells the most expensive hotdog. We had a great dining experience. Food was on par with any other restaurant at its price range.Burger was cooked perfectly medium rare. Drinks were tasty. We usually skip desserts but I am very glad we ordered it this time. The Sundae was unique and delicious. Highly recommend!

Great place for lunch. Liked the prime rib sandwich and dip a lot, but was disappointed with the bread used. Could have been crispy.

The ambiance and decor are charming, and the hospitality is top-notch. However, every dish we ordered—Black Hummus, Deviled Egg, Pastrami, Kasha Pasta, and the Hot Dog—was overly salty. The Kasha Pasta, in particular, was not only overly salty, but also disappointingly dry as if the handmade pasta had been left out too long before boiling. Despite this, I found the beverage menu, especially the mocktail selection, quite enjoyable. The food didn't leave a lasting impression.

The best use of the restaurant is hot dog and beer after work plus a few appetizers and maybe a dessert. While other dishes were just fine they nothing special. In general its not a great neighborhood for food and I think it really fits the after work niche well.

I love mischa. This became my go to restaurant . It a shame that i did not take pic of pre ordered thanksgiving pie. I ordered pie form here , one from jean georges, Mischa pie was much much better . Besides of pie~ service , taste of food in general is great. Some people said it’s hype. No way, i am so happy and satisfied alot that i can have dishes at Mischa at this price.

Sure the hot dog stole the show (who put the hotdog on the top of the menu? but everyone came for that). The menu is under stated - burger, tartar, and steak, but the flavor is not. The subtle hint of extra flavor, can be spice, can be fermented, moved you to a different place than typical midtown restaurants.Tip: The restaurant is located in the lobby level.

The hot dog is very good. I didn’t care for the matzah ball soup. Not traditional.

Really overpriced (no duh) and overly salted food. Only come for the drinks and ambiance, all the food is okay at best. If you must eat, the chicken wings are pretty great. The sinks are tiny that your hands touch the bowl, so you can really only wash one hand off at a time. Toilet seats were automatic, which was a nice touch to an already expensive dining experience.

Besides the fact that the menu is a very unusual combination, we found that what we ordered was delicious. The service was excellent. We went early so the restaurant was still quiet
We read the NY Times review and had to try the Happy Hour Special which is their wonderful hot dog and one of several cocktails. We opted for cosmopolitans. The hot dog is the size of a kielbasa and is smoked to perfection. There are 5 condiments plus chili. We usually eat our hot dogs with chili but not today. We let the creative condiments enhance the dogs. I would not have thought of a cosmopolitan with a hot dog but in this case they went well together. We recommend.
