This is a lovely restaurant with good service that knows how to get you out in time for a show without you feeling rushed.
The selection of Greek wines is very nice and I thoroughly enjoyed the featured white wine I ordered based on a suggestion from our waitress. She seemed knowledgeable of the wines and made the suggestion after asking what I liked in a white. She was spot on in her suggestion.
We tried the eggplant spread as an appetizer with the pita bread and olive oil that every table receives. And added some veggies for dipping. The spread was really good and the veggies were so fresh and crunchy! Just perfect.
I ordered the striped sea bass and my friend ordered the salmon. He really enjoyed the salmon except for burning his finger on the metal bowl/plate it was in, after he was warned to be carful when it arrived at the table. Luckily it was minor but beware. My sea bass was “meh”. I wouldn’t order it again and probably should have gone with the lamb. It wasn’t that hot when it arrived and didn’t really taste like much. I ended up putting some of the leftover eggplant spread on it. To give it some flavor.
My friend had the almond cake for dessert and found it to be just the right amount for a sweet treat after dinner.
If you are coming here before a show, as many of the diners were when we were there, note that there are only two single toilets so it took 15 minutes for both of us to get through the line and use the restroom before we left. We hadn’t factored that in when planning the timing to get to the theater. We made it just fine but had to walk much quicker than expected.
We had a wonderful dinner learning about Greek wine from Kamal. He was so knowledgeable and gracious. It was a wonderful experience.
We had such a memorable meal at Molyvos! We started with the three-spread sampler, which came with crunchy vegetables—each spread was outstanding. The hummus was perfectly creamy, the tzatziki (made with sheep’s milk yogurt) was honestly the best I’ve ever had, and the skordalia was simply incredible—smooth, garlicky, and totally addictive.
The crispy calamari was another standout—light, tender, and seasoned to perfection.
For mains, I had the Greek sardines, which were fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly light despite the generous portion size. My boyfriend got the citrus-marinated Maine sea scallops, and while they had a strong seafood-forward flavor, he loved how bold and unique they were.
The portions were huge—we ended up saving enough for a second dinner! Our server (whose name I sadly forgot) was absolutely lovely—warm, attentive, and proactive without being overbearing.
Wonderful place we stumbled upon for lunch while in NYC. The food and cocktails were so fresh and exquisitely delicious. Service was friendly, attentive, and unobtrusive.
An amazing place. Greek cuisine at its best with a great variety of Greek wines.
Molyvos is one of our favorites every time we visit NYC. You know you are getting an authentic Greek dinner experience when the staff (and at least half the customers!) are Greek.
My husband had to tread lightly when he said the peppers were better than mine. And the Youvetsi literally falls off the bone! Everything is delicious. Make sure to save room for dessert!

On the pricier side, but great service and delicious food. Lots of dill is used— it was in the dips, the salad, the soup… I think I liked it, but I’ve definitely had my dill fix for a while lol. Interior is cute and I love the wine selection.
If I’m being really picky, the menu said the almond cake was warm, but it was cold for us ? also, found the chicken soup to essentially be more liquid tzatziki (not good nor bad, just observational— would not personally get it again).
The scallops were by far my favorite!

We have dined both inside and outside under the pergola at Molyvos and always leave impressed. The standout for me is their fresh, creamy Tzatziki perfectly paired with warm, fluffy pita bread. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Greek flavors!

Everything was amazing. Awesome service m, great food and dessert. The lamb shank was amazing as was the salmon. Enjoyed the soup and hummus as well. Highly recommend!! Can't wait to go back.
Quaint, relaxing space, beautiful as well. Our brunch meals were delicious, beautifully presented, and perfectly portioned. We had the marouli salad, mizithra pancakes, Greek toast taoureki and athenian omelet. Excellent service as well.
