Good restaurant. Great Greek wine list. The food is good but not 100% authentic. It is however good and the price point is not too

I love the new Molyvos location, after having eaten at the old one on 7th for years. It's beautifully decorated and elegant, and the food is wonderful, especially the imported Greek fish. It's more pricey than it was, but you get what you pay for. Service was unusually warm and friendly. Strongly recommended!

New location for this long-time Greek restaurant, now in the old Esca location on 9th and 43rd. Attractive dining room, much smaller than the old location near City Center. Reliably excellent food, eager but occasionally disorganized service. Terrific for pre-theater dinner.

All was very good but has moved far away from Greek fare. The new location is precious and upscale in a way that feels a bit misplaced. It has strayed far from the Samos family restaurant it was earlier in its previous location. Overpriced. I am looking for a new Greek.

The staff and waiters were very very kind and very knowledgeable and very nice. Unfortunately, the food we ordered we did not taste that great for some reason everything tasted very bland. the ambience is beautiful.

Excellent spot for brunch. Longtime fan of Molyvos, but first time at the new location - it's beautiful, and the food and service is as terrific as ever. Hope to be back often.

Hidden gem near the Theater District. Authentic Greek cuisine, as close as you can get to the food in Greece. Amazing food from the dips, to the Greek salad and calamari, grilled fish, sides and dessert. Highly recommended, will definitely be coming back.

Our dinner started well with our waiter considerately asking if we were going to a show that evening (we were not). The bread came and was excellent, warm pita and something else unique and exceptional. The cocktail menu had some very interesting options, and we enjoyed the ones we picked. Everything about the dinner, and service, was a constant reminder that, while the prices were not inexpensive, the restaurant was definitely providing really good value.

The food was delicious, but I would say the portion size could have been a bit better. Wonderful environment and service. We were a bit rushed for a theater curtain, and the kitchen rose to the occasion,

Lovely restaurant. I would say the food is solid. Very traditional and well executed well. The Lamb chops fell short for me. I'm also surprised how small the salads are. We only ordered two for a group of five people and the portion size is really one person. But everything else was delicious and the wine list was great.

We sat at the bar by choice. Arrived at around 7pm on a Sunday and the restaurant was not crowded. I hate to say it, but the food was really just fair. I had eaten at Molyvos several times at the old location on 7th Ave and had great experiences there. I'm hoping it was an off night.Hydra Breeze cocktail - EXCELLENT!!!!Keftedes (meatballs) - good, they were on the sweet sideGreek Salad - excellent!!!Pita basket-excellentLamb youvetsi with orzo-goodTaramosalata - very saltySide of roasted potatoes - below fair. not crispy at all. Like boiled potatoes in oil.Octopus-had a weird spice in it that my friend had never had before (she gets this a LOT at greek restaurants) and had to send it back because it was overpowering. They removed it from the bill. One thing that was EXCELLENT was the bartender. I cannot remember his name, but he was from Greece. See my video of him making a delicious drink called "Hydra breeze" It's a cucumber concoction that was excellent. I would go there just for that!

The overall experience was just "meh"...and we mostly likely won't return. The manger (from the website I gather, the grandson of Livanos family behind the restaurant) was "too cool for school." We were a group of 4 and 2 from our group were walking over when he asked with annoyance when the other w would join us. Easy buddy...we're not going to stiff you in any way...besides no other parties were waiting and also we were watching table after table get cleared so it's not like they "needed" the tables. Not to mention we ordered drinks an appetizers while we were waiting. Anyway it was super off-putting. Especially, since as Greeks, we were trying a new place and wanting to support other Greeks. We dropped $400, didn't love the food, definitely didn't feel the warmth/hospitality of the Greek culture. The highlight of our visit was the conversation with our Moroccan server.

This is a regular pre theater stop for us. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. The food is delicious. We had the eggplant spread, spanakopita, grilled sea bass and saved room for the amazing Molyvos special ice cream sundae. The wine and cocktails are great too.

I ALWAYS love dining at Molyvos! The staff, ambience and food are unbeatable. Dinners at Molyvos always flow very smoothly. I had a delicious heirloom tomato salad followed by scallops then the tasty yougurt dessert. My only reservation is that the scallops seemed small and a bit dry, perhaps that's something that is seasonal.
