It’s a small, little gourmet Ramen place. Price is moderate going high. But the food is very good. This place was in my Bucket list and I finally went there. As I don’t live in NYC. My trusted Google Map led me there and finally I am in Nakamura. My next visit to NYC, I am coming back.
I ordered the tsukemen at this small, eight-table restaurant, which appears to be affiliated with the higher-quality Japanese spot next door. Ordering via QR code was convenient. The noodles, while a generous portion, aligned with the $25 price. The ajitama egg was well-prepared, boasting a lovely yolk. Overall, the bowl of Japanese noodles was decent, though it didn't quite reach the level of Okiboru. The place itself lacks any particular vibe. It's brightly lit and...
Ramen here is emphatically mediocre -- you'd do much better at Ramen Ishida in this neighborhood, or Ippudo by Astor Place. Broth is fine, noodles are not as firm as I would like. I'm also not a fan of ordering through an app in a restaurant this small when I could literally tell the person making the ramen what I want to have. Kind of an anti-social experience. I don't understand the rave reviews at all. The gyoza also was not better than okay.
