😍My very first time here. I was served by Jason, food captain. I guess I was spoiled by his hospitality because I tell you, WHEN I return, if I not being served by him, I'm not going. Every now and again you come across a server who truly enjoys making people fell comfortable, that's Jason, in a nutshell. Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao’s new spot on St. Marks Place offers a decent ambiance with good vibes, making it a fine choice for a late-night bite. The service was pleasant and attentive, adding to the overall experience. However, the food was hit or miss for me.
The soy milk wasn’t sweet enough, requiring extra sugar, which dampened the experience. The fried dough stick was disappointing—too hard and stale for my liking. Unfortunately, the bao also fell short of expectations.
On the brighter side, the beef and tripe spicy dish was flavorful and satisfying. The truffle soup dumplings and regular soup dumplings were the standouts, living up to the restaurant’s reputation for quality dumplings.
While the St. Marks location didn’t fully impress, I’d consider revisiting, but likely at their Ktown or Flushing branches, where I’ve had better experiences.
