Food was decent---on the salter side---but definitely overpriced. We got 3 small dishes [Georgian Dumplings (4 count), Arjaruli Khachapuri, and Chashusuli] and 2 sodas to share amongst four people and it came out to be a little over $100. It was more like a snack than a meal, so you will have to spend more to be full.Waitress didn't let us know they only take AmEx or cash before we sat down and luckily we had just enough to pay or we'd had to use their ATM, which we weren't comfortable with. She also added 20% tip without telling us. Luckily my friend caught that or else we'd pay double tips. We were going to do 20% anyway (more than deserved), but the lack of honesty made us decide not to go back again. Hence, the 3 star.

Came here at 4pm before a music show at Cafe Wha, and we had an excellent dining experience. The place was completely empty besides us, though - we assumed it was because of the odd reservation time, but it was still empty when we left at 5:15 and the restaurants around us were filled up. I can't understand why, because the food and service were both excellent! We got the eggplant and walnut spread rolls, the tolma, and I got the lamb and tarragon khinkali (dumplings) and my dad got the chanaki (lamb stew). Then we got the ideali (honey walnut cake) for dessert as recommended by our waiter. Everything was delicious and the prices were reasonable. If you're looking for a quiet, hidden gem in Greenwich village, this is it.

We brought 2 high school teens from rural Pennsylvania to explore new experiences, and this was fantastic both for them and for us. We had visited another Georgian restaurant previously with a native Georgian, but found this meal much more interesting and flavorful. Great, and we will do this again at Old Tbilisi, even without a native translator.

while walking around with family, we headed into Old Tbilisi Garden for a late lunch in Greenwich Village. not super familiar with Georgian cuisine, but the hearty food hit the spot on a chilly afternoon. a charming interior with a warm vibe: small bar in the front with an enclosed garden in the back with a fairly large dining area in-between. the menu is built to order a variety of dishes and share. memorable tastydishes—Georgian Tasting Board (a variety of vegetable rolls made of beets, eggplant, spinach, and more, served with bread), Khinkali (Georgian dumplings), and Spinach Khachapuri (spinach, scallion, & cheese in baked dough). the food was flavorful and savory—it has me curious about exploring more food from this part of the world. the service was pleasant and attentive. if you’re looking for foods off-the-beaten path in NYC, then Old Tbilisi Garden has a menu for you.

Georgian food (and wine!) is the best the world - and Old Tbilsi's is certainly one of the good ones. Highly recommend. Come ready with cash...

(Edit) I’m becoming suspicious that the owners are spamming good reviews every time they get a bad one. Please read the entire list of reviews.Apparently, they don’t like people different from them here, and they’ve got the sheer audacity to overcharge for it. Their cheeseballs taste like they were found in the frozen food section and their stewed chicken is tough (how the hell?). Zero appreciation for their customers, especially when the servers have the audacity to laugh at you, you’ll feel right at home sweet (abusive) home.

A great restaurant. The dishes also taste quite good. However, the restaurant does not accept Visa or Mastercard. There is an ATM in the basement where you can withdraw cash for an additional fee. And this in the middle of New York in the 21st century???
