Way too loud… big group yelling right beside… impossible to discuss :-(

Buzzy energetic vibe. A bit noisier than we would have liked but a fun ambiance overall. Wine selection was nice and branzino dish and pasta dishes were good (branzino was flavorful but a bit difficult to de-bone).
We went to this restaurant for dinner with 4 friends (two couples). It is located in a fairly dynamic and pleasant area. We had a reservation for 7 p.m., but upon arriving 10 minutes late, the person at the entrance asked us to hurry up and eat, because they were waiting for other customers. It wasn’t a very welcoming experience to start the evening with.
Once seated, we looked at the menu. No bread or olive oil was brought to us to wait. As a starter, we ordered a burrata, which was good, but it was still missing some bread. We also had a fish dish for over $20, which only had 4 small slices, a really ridiculous portion.
For the main course we chose pasta which, in my opinion, was undercooked. They were bland, sticky, and lacked flavor. We had to ask for extra parmesan, and there was no salt or pepper on the table to adjust the seasoning.
As for drinks, we took two bottles of white wine at more than $95 each, yet among the lower prices. In total we paid over $500 for 4 people, an exorbitant amount for the quality of Italian food served. The service was good.
For this price, I have already eaten in luxury restaurants in Paris where the dining experience was second to none. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant. The prices are excessive, and the quality is not there. A real abuse for New York.

The atmosphere is really appealing and inviting, but unfortunately the service lacked attention. The dishes themselves were rather bland and lacked spice. Salt and pepper were not available on the table, and since the service was hardly present, it was not possible to ask for it.

I went there last night with a group of friends, there were 11 of us. The atmosphere was wonderful - it’s a fun and vibrant place.
The food was, unfortunately, hit or miss. The Caesar salad and pizza apps were delicious, as was the rigatoni alla vodka, but it ended there. The bucatini carbonara lacked flavor and life. The snow dance farm chicken was incredibly bland, almost inedible. The suckling pig had a bit of flavor, but reminded us of Chipotle carnitas and was probably a notch below. The desserts were forgettable.
Most of the staff was quite friendly, including the hostesses and the servers/bussers. Unfortunately their friendly attitudes were overshadowed by our rude waitress who seemed repeatedly inconvenienced by our drink orders, forgot my drink multiple times and never thought to apologize. I don’t expect too much from waitstaff, just a smile and a modicum of effort. One of the worst experiences with a waitress I’ve had.
Appetizers weren’t great. Ordered the seasonal white truffle menu and it was a total rip off. I’ve eaten at over 300 Italian restaurants across the country and never in my life have I seen such a rip off. Ambience is the only thing going for this place. I was treated like a peasant
Was very loud and busy when I was there. Tried the vodka rigatoni and brazzino. Was very disappointed in the lack of flavors especially for the pasta which was dry and the sauce did not have much flavor. The fish was okay.

I’ve been trying to get in touch with this restaurant since dining here a couple weeks ago to get a copy of my receipt! I have left voicemails and emailed and they have not responded. ☹️

Very savory menu, excellent homage to the traditional flavors of fire and meat. Make sure to get your hands into the dish. Enjoyed some great wine pairings as well.
Such a great night at the basement wine bar of peasant - thank you!!

The pig roast dinner is amazing. So long as the team supporting you provides consistent service. There were too many moments where we were wondering where our waiter and the somm were. They had been constantly filling our glasses with water and wine…and then would disappear too often. If you’re going to start with that level of care, please follow through. Especially for a birthday table that ordered the pig ahead of time.
