I booked a table a few weeks in advance for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner. There was some sort of mistake with the table and they sat us in the walk in section with no explanation. We sat for 20 minutes with no acknowledgement or service. The waitress told the table next to us she got them a “better” table to move to, meanwhile ignored us for what was supposed to be a celebratory dinner. We left. Super disappointing
beautiful atmosphere pasta was pretty good but not the best wine was amazing service was great

I stopped by this bar recently and ordered the rigatoni, which was decent, but the overall experience was extremely disappointing. While I was there, the owner spent the entire time behind the bar drinking wine with his friends, loudly using slurs and insulting his staff. It created a very uncomfortable and unwelcoming atmosphere.
No matter how good the food might be, it’s hard to enjoy a meal in an environment like that. Respect and professionalism should be the bare minimum in any establishment, and unfortunately, this place fell far short. I won’t be returning.
EDIT:The below response by the restaurant was a lie to trick readers on google that they made any attempt to do anything.

Came here for a farewell dinner and had a great experience from start to finish. Food was great, especially with the large format meats. Sommelier provides good recommendations for wines. Service is top notch and you feel well taken care of. Overall a strong recommendation for group dinners!

Food was fine, nothing special (especially at that price point). Portions were a little on the small side. Restaurant was very loud, which I guess is the vibe, but just know what you're going in for. Service was fine but nothing special.

Super cute restaurant and amazing service! Only real complaint is the gluten free pasta was not the best which is surprising because I’ve had better for cheaper. I’d hesitate coming back because the quality was inconsistent to the point of unpleasantness. Some noodles were thicker and chewier than others, so each bite was an odd surprise. The sauce was delicious but sadly the unpleasant noodle texture pulled focus. Although I appreciate the seriousness the restaurant gave to my allergy, unfortunately the attention to detail that’s given to other “gluten” food on the menu was not given to the gluten free dishes :/ A cute spot overall, just wouldn’t recommend for gluten free unless they revisit their recipe/cooking.

Peasant is one of those rare restaurants that reminds you how magical simplicity can be when every detail is done right. From start to finish, the experience feels both rustic and elevated.
The hamachi crudo sets the tone beautifully: impossibly fresh fish, sliced just right, kissed with citrus and a hint of heat that makes every bite bright and refreshing. It’s elegant but unpretentious.
Then there’s the bone marrow toast, which might just be the ultimate indulgence. The marrow is rich, silky, and deeply savory, melting into the crisp toast in the most satisfying way.
And of course, the rigatoni with spicy vodka sauce is nothing short of incredible (definitely challenges Carbones). The pasta itself is tender and perfectly chewy, holding onto the sauce the way only truly great pasta can. The vodka sauce walks that fine line between creamy and fiery.
Peasant doesn’t just serve excellent food; it offers an experience that feels deeply satisfying and genuine. Every dish tells a story of craft and care, and every bite makes you want to come back for more. Special shout out to our waiter Derek who was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout our entire dinner.
Can’t wait to come back!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Peasant, and it couldn’t have been more special. From the moment we arrived, there was a thoughtful card waiting on our table congratulating us. Such a lovely personal touch.
We started with Di Palo’s burrata and prosciutto - creamy, fresh, and absolutely delicious. For the main course, we ordered the branzino and the bone-in strip, both cooked to perfection and full of rich, deep flavor. Every dish felt authentic and beautifully prepared.
The cozy atmosphere, warm service, and exceptional food made the evening unforgettable. Peasant is truly a gem for anyone who appreciates genuine Italian cuisine with heart. Special thanks to Irakli for the warm welcome and hospitality, he made us feel truly celebrated.

The food was good, but the service — especially from the sommelier — was disappointing. The restaurant wasn’t even full, yet it took over 15 minutes just to get our first round of cocktails, which already set the tone. Sensing the delay, we asked to order a bottle of wine as soon as our 1st round of drinks arrived. Even then, it took another 15 minutes for the sommelier to come over. After we selected the bottle, there was yet another long 20 minutes wait — all of our food had already been served, and we were still asking where our wine was.
When the sommelier finally returned, he presented the bottle but did not open it for us to taste at the table, which is standard practice. Instead, he walked away with the unopened bottle and returned about 10 minutes later with a decanter filled with wine— and the original bottle was nowhere to be seen. This was a very unusual and unprofessional approach to wine service.
Overall, the poor coordination and lack of proper service, especially from the sommelier overshadowed what could have been a great dining experience. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

Peasant is an absolute gem in the city. The rustic atmosphere and open-fire cooking create an authentic, cozy vibe that’s perfect for a night out. Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared — rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service is warm and attentive without being overbearing. A must-visit for anyone who loves food done right.
