We had dinner there for our wedding anniversary, and the food was amazing. The staff were so kind and attentive. Thank you very much!

The pictures posted are misleading and the restaurant leaves them up anyway. The rotunda shown in the pictures is never open for regular dining. Their actual dining room is a low ceiling hallway outside the rotunda.

High Tea at the Taj in New York was a most disappointing experience. The staff sat us down next to guests eating lunch, surrounding us with the stench of french fries and burgers rather than the aroma of flowers. The location looks nothing like advertised on the website and in attractive photos published online - caveat emptor indeed. The manager offered us glasses of champagne in apology, but make no changes to the atmosphere or location that would make the afternoon tea fitting and appropriate. It is frankly perplexing that the Taj on the Upper East Side does not know how to organize an afternoon tea when the afternoon tea at the Taj in Colaba is simply spectacular and one of our favorites.
We got up and left disappointed and frustrated. Guests wanting afternoon tea here should instead do what we did - go straight to the Lowell two blocks away and bask in an afternoon tea done right (for the same price) at the Majorelle. How lovely that experience was and how lucky we were to getting a seating right after this disappointment.

Complete fraud!!!! They promise you a beautiful rotunda and require you to prepay USD125 per person only to tell you on arrival that that space in all the pictures is NEVER available because there is a SHORTAGE of staff!!! Even when you call and confirm they don’t tell you! USD125 per head high tea at an old fun down “restaurant” more like coffee shop!!!!! Fraud, beware!!!!! avoid this trap hotel at all costs!!!!! MANAGER simply don’t care, you paid!!!! Tough luck

food is ok, but the service is not. it was my bday so i treated my family and bf at this nice restaurant. i was so happy to dine until they kept thinking it was one of my guest bday. i had to tell them 3 TIMES. ruined my mood, especially when they sing and serve my cake that my bf bought for me to the wrong person. sure its not that big problem but, 3 times? like they’re not listening, this is not the service that i expected. it was not busy at that moment, could’ve been more focus on customer. however, the rotunda is great i took good pictures here. but thats the only thing i like bout this place. do better.

This place is a hidden nyc place to go and Sergio is a gem. The best bartender in the city by far. No happy hour deals, no crowd, no loud music. Enjoy your favourite cocktail or two, have a convo or a snack and don't tell anyone abbout it. Keep it secret.

I am writing this review simply to commend the wonderful service at Perrine. Attentive and kind, it alone makes you willing to return. The food as well is delicious, the spaghetti is hand made, the Italian way
Hands down the coolest staff ever.

On May 20th, my boyfriend and I visited the restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, but our experience was deeply disappointing. Our server, who appeared to be the only Asian staff member with facial hair, ignored us for an extended period while other guests who arrived after us were already being served. When we informed him that the pasta was undercooked, he responded that the pasta was meant to be that way and that if we wanted it softer, we should have let him know. Afterward, we requested takeaway packaging and the bill. He returned with the packed pasta but failed to provide us with the bill and simply walked away. We tried to get his attention to ask for the bill again, but he ignored our attempts to make eye contact. This unprofessional service and disregard for customers ruined our special occasion.

The food was OK, nothing spectacular or special. Very solid.
The atmosphere is lovely because it’s inside of a swanky hotel. The decor is beautiful and it’s a light filled room. Furniture very comfortable.
The service was subpar. Really not acceptable. They did not fill up our coffee unless we asked for it. They did not check with the table about anything else needed. They really just didn’t do a good job.
The final insult was the bill. Three people for cups of coffee, two orders of salmon, two egg white omelette, one order of avocado and an order of wheat toast.
Almost $200 including the required gratuity.
If the service was spectacular, I would say no problem on the bill.
You can do better elsewhere.

This place has to be the expensive & garbage place to eat in NYC.
I can't state enough how horrible the food was. $100 for 2 eating breakfast/brunch with microwaved pancakes and $10 per drink + $10 for a refill.
The utensils had tarnish from being improperly cleaned.
The Pierre would be wise to get rid of this restaurant. By association, it crosses off the Pierre from any prospective and likely future trip to Manhattan.

Horrifically slow service that does not at all meet the price point. Plus gratuity included so no recourse.
