Have loved and frequented Épices in the past. Stopped in for a croissant today before 2p and it was notably stale, enough to make me think it was baked the day before. Not good. The packaged shortbread cookies were great - maybe the plastic wrap keeps them fresher than the croissants.
Many years ago, when I lived on the westside, I used to go Soutine, a lovely french bakery! Well, about four decades later, I returned to their location and discovered an even more exceptional French bakery. Just waking in and being greeted warmly by Bebe, lifted my spirits as I began buying their delicious eclairs and cookies! They still make a fantastic chocolate bread-loaf that they sell at one of my favorite eateries: The Muffin Cafe!
I actually stumbled upon this place after leaving a different bakery. It was way too crowded and I turned the corner to find this place. The people there are super sweet and my opera cake was amazing! Going again 5/5
