The food was ok. Started on a bad note w unwarned bread (was not fresh) w no olive oil at an old school Italian restaurant. I asked for an appetizer of spaghetti and was charged for a full meal. The eggplant parm was excellent. My veal chop was ok a little tough but too rare inside. It was my first time back in over 5yrs and it will unfortunately be my last.

Absolutely LOVED this place and would be a regular if I didn't live in Texas. Definitely recommend making a reservation. I gave the server a choice of a few dishes, and of those he recommended the Meat Ravioli. I tweaked the order to have pink sauce instead of marinara, and I CLEANED THE PLATE (which I never do). If / when I ever make it back to NYC, I guarantee I'll come back!

While the food and service were good enough our piccata was served with no capers, the bread was stale and our waiter never asked if we wanted anything to drink. Despite making a reservation way in advance we were seated at a weird table with a draft. Not a spot I feel the need to return to.

We had the Eggplant Parm and the Veal Saltimboca. Both dishes were the best we have EVER had! The wine was labeled for the restaurant and was outstanding. We come here every time we visit NYC!!! Classic Italian.

Great classic NY Italian spot. Highly recommend - one of the best chicken parms I have ever had.As usually the case with Italian spots, not a ton of options for a vegan eater (or vegetarian really).Vegetarian options: Veggie options lacking - just veggies doused in olive oil

Skip it. There are far better Italian places.

classic Italian restaurant. the house made chopped ceasar is as good as it gets. we had the ravioli and shrimp parmigiana, both of these were delicious and well portioned. my friend had the steak and it was perfectly cooked extra rare. i grab dinner here anytime i'm in the city for business top it all off with a double on the rocks

Place was nice, service was good, but food was mediocre. Paper thin veal/chicken parm with no sides or salads (those were extra). Wines were disproportionally expensive. I wouldn't go back.

In my view this place is the best of the best. Food and service are unsurpassed. Pietro's is a place for men. You don't take a date to Pietro's...You take your best friend after he gets engaged or scores a huge deal or something like that. You pig out on perfect steaks, perfect shrimp cocktails, etc. and you drink a couple of perfectly made Martini's and then you pay the large bill and go home swearing that you ate too much and drank too much and you'll never do that again. But after recovering for a day or two you then begin dreaming of your next visit.

A NYC must. It brings you back to old New York and the food is not disapointing. If you have not eaten there yet you must. It was a first for us and how have we waited so long. The staff is friendly, warm and right there for all your needs. Make that reservation

My first visit and I WILL go back. But there were issues. Service was erratic. Despite there being at least ten idle waiters at 6pm it was hard to order or get the check. Cesar salad didn't have the anchovies we were offered. Veal parm was really good but for $37 I expected a small side dish of pasta or veg. The best service was from the young man in the coat room. Super friendly and helpful.

Extremely crowded and loud! Too expensive for what was served. Food was a little cold and not very tasty. Service was almost nonexistent -seemed to cater to male customers and ignored us!

Medium-rare filet was more like a block of charcoal. Most disappointing meal I’ve had in a long time.
