Crazy expensive, mediocre, somewhat tasteless ice cream. I don't understand all the good reviews. The store was very nice, clean, and well lit. Staff was supper friendly and helpful.

Saw this place online while on holiday so decided to come and grab some ice cream. Store was busy and did queue for about 10mins but 100% worth it. Ice cream was so taste and cones were warm and soft. Unbelievable choice of unique flavours. Totally worth coming here!

EAT HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK I visited a retail store in Manhattan this month (July, 2023). In the store, just ahead of me in line, was a man with a large dog. When it was his turn to place his order, he stepped up to the counter at which time the dog raised up and put his front paws onto the counter where food was served. The paws stayed there for perhaps five seconds and then the man took pulled the dog down. I said "the dog should not be in the store and it would be best to take it outside" (those were my exact words said in a very calm tone). The owner turned and said "shut up". I asked the person behind the counter was this acceptable and she looked away from me. I immediately left the store, but waited outside to see whether any employee would clean the surface where the paws had been. Nope. Once I was at home, I went online to provide feedback on the Van Leeuwen website. No place for direct customer feedback, so I left feedback on their portal for requesting business. Included my contact email. Never a response. Guess their mission is generating cash, not customer satisfaction. It's certainly not about their customer's health safety.

Came here with my wife fir a treat after dinner. The other ice cream was extremely rich for me , a bit too sweet in my opinion but hundreds love them . The price point is quite high as well. They are very busy certainly

We came here because they had an amazing selection of vegan ice cream. They also offered vegan sundaes with whipped cream and hot fudge which was super exciting. The whipped cream ended up being not very good. It was almost flavorless? It was weird and not good. The ice cream itself was very good but we had actually had better at a different place in the same area. Other than the whipped cream being flavorless it was a very tasty snack.

We tried this place after an amazing and quite filling dinner. Not a smart choice as it meant I could only eat one scoop of ice cream even though I wanted more. The flavors were unique and delicious. There are easily 20+ regular flavors, rotating seasonal flavors, and then another 10+ vegan flavors. Definitely worth a long walk through the city before treating yourself!

I bought a pint of this ice cream at my local supermarket. The flavor I chose was strawberry and I eagerly opened the container when I got home. The ice cream was a pretty pale pink color and pleasantly flavored. However, there was not one single trace of a real strawberry in the entire pint. Zero! We shared the pint, thinking that perhaps the strawberry pieces had fallen to the bottom of the container…no luck. Pleasant flavor, if you’d like to pretend that a strawberry has paid a quick visit. I am afraid that that was the last pint of this brand that I will shell out$7.99 for. I prefer to know that a real strawberry has passed by!
I try to visit this East Village branch whenever I am in the city. Their coconut rum coquito flavor is creamy, dreamy and yummy all rolled into one cone. Service is friendly and helpful.

Ordered Sicilian pistachio @ ice cream shop at Rockefeller center - doesn’t taste like pistachio at all . I find their ice cream salty which is weird . 2 scoops for $8 & change is way overpriced . Pistachio gelato at Eataly or Ferrara is way better without that fancy name .

The signs on 7th Street New York made the place easy to find. Once inside the store the choice is made especially difficult because you are literally spoilt for choice… Cup or cone, one two or three scoops, ice cream, sorbet or vegan, and then of course the dilemma concerning toppings! Whatever you decide, it makes for a dream treat, actually that should read, a must-have dream treat.
