Wu Liang Ye Reviews
White tablecloths, sturdy, black chopsticks, and a large, ceramic pot for house, black tea. This was an unexpected find, and I'm happy with the savory mapo tofu and Szechuan pickles (bamboo shoots with sesame oil?) Ill come again with a bigger group. Great Szechuan food in Midtown
Good food! 2 people on a late Sunday lunch could be walked in. The dan dan noodles were spicy, but I wouldn't mind getting it again. Fried scallops were crunchy texture. Scallion pancakes and hot&sour soup wasnt bad either. But Iwould go for the noodles more.
Enjoyed our meal while visiting NYC.

Wu Liang Ye is a highly recommended Chinese restaurant in NYC known for its great food and large portions at reasonable prices. The menu offers a wide range of options, with popular dishes like General Tsao's Chicken and Scallion Pancakes. The Spicy whole fish and Young Chow Fried Rice are also delicious. The restaurant has a charming, ancient atmosphere, which provides a welcome respite from the high prices and mediocre food found elsewhere in NYC. While the waiters are generally friendly and helpful, there have been some reports of stressed service during busy times. The wine selection is impressive, and many customers have praised the taste and quality of the meals. However, some recent reviews indicate a decline in the kitchen's quality, with issues noted in dishes like Mapo tofu and cold sesame noodles. Despite these concerns, Wu Liang Ye remains a popular choice for those looking for good food and value in the heart of New York City.
