Good food but they take forever to make it. I walked in 2 minutes before the ordering app said my food would be ready and they hadn’t started making it yet. The lady at the front looked confused and then printed my order. This is typical.

And when I got home I saw they didn’t include the peppers I paid extra for.

I visited this local taco spot with an open mind, but given their city-high prices, I expected a lot more. Unfortunately, the tacos didn’t come close to justifying the cost. The mahi mahi taco was especially disappointing—EXTREMELY dry and lacking any sort of moisture or flavor. The tortillas themselves felt mealy and missed the mark on the rich texture and robust flavor you expect from authentic corn tortillas. There are other taco spots at similar price points that blow these away, I can’t stress enough how these tacos had no business being this expensive. The one positive thing I experienced were the sauces that came with the tacos, they were bright and flavorful. I usually wouldn’t judge a low-key taco joint too harshly, but when the prices are on par with the best in the city, the standards naturally rise. Sadly, this place didn’t meet those expectations. Overall, it was a huge miss for the price, and there are definitely better options out there for taco enthusiasts.

Make sure you count your change and check your order before you leave. The quality of the food and service has gone down a lot.

The food was delicious I got horchata which was bomb and carnitas tacos (they were some of the best ones I’ve ever had). I had specifically only ordered the tacos with cilantro and got them just like that :)) . The service was great as well, within 10-15 min I got my food, and the employees were kind. The Spanish music was in the background, mixing in with the decorations creating a great scenery.

I hate posting bad reviews, but Planet Taco absolutely does not deserve a 4.5 average rating. The most consistently bad food of any restaurant I've been to.

The problem is that the ingredients they start out with are all subpar. The tortillas are always stale. Soups taste like they just dumped some canned veggies together, with no spices or even salt added. Chicken is bland and rubbery. Pinto beans taste straight from another (un-spiced) can, barely warmed up.

I keep convincing myself to order again because the menu looks so interesting. But no menu engineering can change bad starting ingredients.

Service and atmosphere is decent, so I hope they can turn it around. It could be a fun place to take kids. Maybe invest in better basic, fresh ingredients and nail the basic flavors, rather than go crazy with menu combinations.
