Let me start off - I love Popeyes. I will take Popeyes fried chicken over almost any other with some standout exceptions, including Charles’ and Melba’s in NYC and McHardy’s in New Orleans.
So this is more of a specific review of the relatively newly released wings. I got a spicy hot six piece. As I was eating them, I could see how it might be hard to stop. It’s kind of an overwhelming supercharged spicy, salty, sweet combination that leaves you feeling that anything else you eat for the rest of your life will taste bland and devoid of flavor.
But when you actually think of flavor, you really there is t much beyond the high salt, high sugar, high heat. The chicken itself has no flavor. The wings are greasy (no surprise) and the breading is probably 60 percent of the mass of the wings in front of you. I’m not sure if the wings are coated in some sort of spice blend, but the external pieces tasted frilly, almost like someone had dumped sand on the wings before serving.
My final takeaway is that these wings taste like the wonderful chicken sandwich, except as if, that sandwich had no roll and no actual chicken. All you are getting is overly spiced breading.
At almost 200 calories PER WING, I’ll take a pass.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. They are beyond clueless. Couldn’t get the order right. Wanted boneless hot wings. They said they don’t do that. So I then changed it to boneless plain. Sauce on the side. They gave me 2 sauces. I wanted more. They said I had to pay for them. Not a problem at all. Took my order to go. When I got home, it was bone in wings. I tried them. Beyond awful. Receipt said plain boneless. My bad for not checking when I got home. Also they don’t take Amex. When I tried to use my card, it didn’t work. So they tried it 5 times. Then said, after trying it 5 times. Oh yeah, no Amex.

I went in at the behest of a friend who wanted junk food, since she doesn't cook. T-Mobile's reward this week was with Popeye's so I downloaded the "supposed" (BOGO gift) reward. I was told by the T-Mobile instruction to download the App, which I did right B4 I entered the store. Thankfully, I was nearly alone in the store because I asked for help after I showed the cashier the T-Mobile reward. Another worker said, yes other customers have come in with that reward and that I have to order online and redeem the reward, but make sure its pointed to their store. I did all that. I placed my order, and before I paid for it showed the woman my phone screen and asked if my redemption would come through with my order. She said, "Yes as long as you have chosen our store" and then have me their address. Well! That didn't happened. I ended up paying for the whole thing. Then the two women I'd asked along each step I took said, "It should" have worked did you point it to this store? Maybe you pointed it to another store." I said, 'No I asked for your help at each step. There was no asking for the reward code, or a redemption process on the order anywhere. They again said it should have worked. Then a male, possibly a manager, came out and after I told him the events, he tried to tell me I probably used it in another store. I told him I do NOT eat Popeye's and no I pointed it this store, here, today. He then said, he couldn't help me, and probably it was when I went into another store. I have food allergies, other than going in for a friend, I'd never and have not step foot into a Popeye's since 2014. I will not attempt to go again, to redeem anything. They were not helpful.
My friend enjoyed her "junk food", though thankfully. Me, I was just stressed.
Dietary restrictions: If you're milk intolerent or allergic to wheat, THIS is NOT the place to eat. Although, the Cajun Rice and Beans, along with their French fries are good, but neither are filling enough for a whole meal unless you're eating too much of the fries.
After I picked the food up for my friend, I was in an enclosed car with the window cracked mostly because the aroma was getting to me, too.

Very considerate staff members. I needed to use the bathroom before placing the order, the gentleman at pickup counter didn’t hesitate to unlock the door for me. This is a HUGE plus nowadays for any restaurant. I ordered wings to go afterwards which were great as well.

The atmosphere is good but a problem is that there is some homeless people but mostly they are there to open the door for you! This is the best popeyes restaurant EVER

I ordered Uber Eats and they sent me old, burnt and stale chicken. The biscuits were dry. My drink was flat. Barely any mashed potatoes in the cup. It was such a disappointment, almost a joke. I requested a full refund. Maybe they’re better in person, given the reviews, and is why I ordered from this specific location - food for delivery is an absolute NO. Do better, please.
