Pranakhon is a must-try Thai restaurant in NYC, already featured in the Michelin guide. The ambience is reminiscent of Thailand, with staff wearing traditional vests. The friendly staff are quick and cheerful, making personalized food recommendations based on preferences and allergies. The food, including dishes like kanom jean green curry and papaya salad, is delicious. The crab fried rice is highly recommended, offering a decent amount of crab meat chunks and is not too oily. While the entry area is small, the restaurant is often busy, but customers can walk in without a reservation on a weekday night after a short wait. The Thai iced tea is noted as the best in town, and the menu design is absolutely gorgeous. The interior decor transports customers to the streets of Thailand, with a unique concept displaying various Bangkok buildings. The short rib massaman is a must-try, with fork-tender beef in a creamy, nutty curry sauce. Additionally, the Mama more fire dish has superb flavors, featuring instant noodles and a half-boiled egg. Overall, Pranakhon offers an authentic Thai dining experience with delicious food, great service, and a bright, immersive atmosphere.
