Bad experience, do not eat here. I ordered rack of lamb, medium. Came so well done, was not edible. When I told them, they were annoyed and said it would take ten minutes. I said ok, then they bring it out again totally raw. By now my group is done eating, and they bring another and now I don’t want it. They act like I did something wrong. Sorry I don’t deserve that treatment. Stay away!

Stay away at all cost. Dinner with five friends. Ordered the $68 rack of lamb medium. Comes with other entrees so well done it's inedible. Send it back, they're annoyed says it takes 10 minutes to recook. I say ok, rest of table eating. Then they bring out again, totally raw. They offer to recook again, another 10 minutes. By now, table done eating, I've lost my appetite. They bring another and I just don't want it anymore. Nasty every step of the way. I tell them I or my friends won't be back, they say good. I did nothing wrong they acted like I did. STAY AWAY. Many other places similar menu, professional servic.

I remember my first of many dinners at Quatorze on 14th street 35 years ago. It was my birthday, which I shared with Jimmy the bartender. Great meal, French ambience and Jimmy's after dinner French cognac was perfect. Flash forward, many years and many meals later, I stopped back after seeing that they had relocated their UES location but I had a very different and disappointing experience. Our waitress approached the table, unable to speak because of her laryngitis - (why was she on the floor in the first place? we were all quite uncomfortable with the potential of getting sick. That said, we had no dynamic at all with our server, merely placed an order like it was a McDonald's. After cajoling my dinner mate that the cassoulet was a must, an hour later the famous cassoulet rolled out; it fell woefully short of any expectations. Who has ever had a French cassoulet with not a trace of garlic sausage? A few chunks of lamb and a duck leg was just not satisfying. Also, a little embarrassed to have talked up such an expensive meal only to have been brought that version. Nostalgia can't fix a poor meal. Sorry to say I won't return.

Quietly the best burger in the city, only served at the bar. All the staff is so friendly.

There again for supper at the bar. Split Salad, Cassoulet and cocktails. Salad with mustard vinaigrette: simple and sublime. Cassoulet... excellent. Both the stew and the duck confit on top....to die for. Topped off with a few GeorgiaPeach cocktails. Yum. Owner, manager, bartenders.....delightful.

I've eaten at this restaurant since in opened on 14th street a millennium ago then again when it moved to 79th St. I always liked it, but didn't remember how good it really was. Last night I was looking for a French bistro that served roast duck. Would you believe, its wasn't an easy find. I also wanted a classic style adult setting. If classic style, warm inviting and well, an adult setting, Quatorze is your place. The light glows off the muted yellow walls and gives framed French posters a glean of nostalgia, which they are meant to do. The tables are spaced so you don't feel cramped. Relaxing. The food and service were on point. Kevin our waiter was attentive and professional. Knew all the menu and made knowledgeable recommendations. The hostess is also inviting and has a warm smile. I had the onion soup. Solid, with a deep rich broth. We also had the pate and the string beans. The beans were amazing. This was followed by the cassoulet which, in the winter, seems so appropriate. It had pork, sausage and duck confit. Yummy and warm. My friend and I had the duck confit. One with winter vegetable and one with roasted potatoes. Hit the mark. Crispy, moist and rich with flavor. If you are looking for classic French bistro cooking in a relaxed adult atmosphere, Quatorze is your place.

Not so much a review... more like a return to memory. In 1992, i moved to NYC, and the second place I found employment was "Quatorze bis." Mark and Peter were amazing bosses and just great people to be around. They taught me more about client relationships, unwavering discretion, the highest standards, and commitment to authenticity than my degrees ever could. I'm now a VP with a global, high-end steakhouse chain and recently had dinner at "Quatorze bis" - and it was flawless. The welcoming environment that I remember on E 79 st, existed too, on 1st Ave. The service was impeccable and and the servers worked together in what looked like a ballet. The food was world-class authenticity and truly delicious. The pate is simply amazing, and the moulle molierre ( steamed mussells with tomato sautee) is devine. Entrees were cassoulet and bouef bourganon, and they were OMG amazing. The duck and pork in the cassoulet were tender, and the sausage was perfectly cooked. When I tasted the bouef bourganon, it was like a perfect homecoming. The tart tantan for dessert with port wine and Fromboise brandy with poached pears were advised by our server... they too, were flawless. Negronis to start, a vintage Bordeaux, with dinner, and a 1923 sircial port capped off the evening. It was the perfect dinner. Yes, I might be a bit biased in my opinions- but I know exactly what Marc DiGiulio and Peter Meltzer founded on 14th Street and perfected on E 79th Street- I was there. Their unbelievably high standards and commitment to authenticity, flavor, service and experience is as strong today, as it ever was. Treat yourself to a bit of Paris in Gotham.

Made a last minute reservation for New Year's Eve and it did not disappoint! Loved the white Negroni and the escargot. Also got the French onion soup and beef bourguignon, which was so tasty,, and my boyfriend got the sirloin. Great atmosphere and staff - we'll be back!!

Great food in a cozy (if crowded) ambience. The beef bourguignon was good, but the salmon in a choron sauce was truly exemplary. Would come again.

Met family there for our annual pre Thanksgiving brunch. The food, as always, was amazing. The bloody Mary’s are made to perfection. Once we ordered the food, and it was served at our table, we really didn’t see our server again, unless we flagged her down. I’ve been to this restaurant many times and it was surprising. We really wanted a second round of cocktails but by the time the waitress came over, we had finished our meal. We also wanted to order coffees and dessert and we sat there for over 20 minutes, so finally we signaled the bartender and he got our server to give us the check. We will definitely go back again, but maybe sit at the bar next time.

The service was awful Even insulted by one of the workers Walked out with my guests of 5 people Owner stood there dumbfounded And it was my birthday Never got to order the food Waited for over an hour and a half to be asked for the order Very disorganized But the drinks, like everywhere else were good This was in June 2022 Too bad It looked like a nice place

A classic Paris brasserie with a modest menu selection of perfectly prepared foods. Absolument delicieux.

We’ve been eating at Quatorze for over 20 years. Goat cheese salad was one of my favorites tonight it was not edible. I sent it back because I couldn’t even cut it. It came back again the same way. No adjustment on the bill. I asked for a better knife to try to cut it. No luck very disappointed. Poor service, and attention.
