This review isn't about the speakeasy, per se, rather a review of the outstanding service I received from two of the bartenders at a recent event I attended. I was in NYC for a Wine and Food Festival and I was concerned about the availability of N/A spirits or mocktails. I emailed the establishment, and was told that they couldn't make a guarantee due to the uncertainty of what spirits would be provided. (I assumed as much, but can't hurt to ask, right?) Well, I was absolutely blown away when I went to my event and the bartenders, Luke and Francisco (Cisco), had not only been informed of my prior email, they had a specialty drink ready for me. I unfortunately did not have the opportunity to go to the actual Raines Law Room, but if the service that I received that night was indicative of the service they offer every day, I recommend this place 10,000,000%. Many kudos once again to the Raines Law Room and their incredibly amazing bartenders, Luke and Cisco.

We found this speakeasy randomly while looking for a place to grab a drink before dinner. To my pleasant surprise it is an underground speakeasy. we rand the doorbell, and the nice hostess allowed us in without a reservation or secret password. They have an outdoor garden and a traditional speakeasy set up with couches and separation curtains. Ordering you pull a chain. Service wasn’t the most friendly, basic at best. However Would reccomend the drinks and the vibes were cool!

I came in solo on a Sunday and had an absolutely stellar experience. I was shown the bar by the manager, he also took me to tour the rest of the space which included a hidden area…
The bartender spun up a delicious whiskey cocktail, No mans land, reminiscent of the honey deuce.
This lounge creates a striking mood from lighting, textures, to the music and knowledgeable staff. Raines, I’ll be back!

Absolutely magical!! My wife and I made this one of our stops for our 11th anniversary celebration and we could not have picked a better place. From the moment we stepped foot into the place we were made to feel like royalty. The manager, Luke, took time to speak with us to find out our preference in drinks and what kind of cocktail experience and flavors we were looking for. The drinks we were recommended were not only SPOT ON, but also delicious and unique. I, myself being a non-drinker was pleasantly surprised at the quality of non-alcoholic drink options available to me at a speakeasy. It was the perfect place for our special day. Between the amazing atmosphere, Luke's (and the staff's) attentiveness and welcoming, their attention to detail, and quality of drinks we were served, I find it impossible to not make this a regular spot for any celebration or a regular night out with friends. I highly recommend at least checking it out to satisfy curiosity, but I'd be surprised if anyone wouldn't fall in love with Raines Law Room after the first visit just like my wife and I did. Thank you, Luke, and all the staff who made us and our day feel so special.
We were really looking forward to this speakeasy, but the experience fell flat. The staff were attentive, but the seating we were given ruined the atmosphere. We were placed on a short couch right by the emergency exit, with our feet against the stairs, and the lighting in that area was harsh and far too bright for a speakeasy. Instead of feeling hidden and immersive, it felt like an afterthought. For a place that’s supposed to be all about vibe and ambiance, this was a big letdown. Drinks and service can only go so far — when the setting makes you want to leave early, it’s hard to want to come back

Cocktails where delicious service was great. Couch seating was comfortable and I love the speak easy vibe. I wanted a more open flow for my event so the curtains around the couches was a bit isolating but if I wanted a more quiet catch-up hang or relaxation with my partner or friends I would have liked this more. It just wasn't conducive to our part vibe but otherwise was great.
