It seems like this store is under new management, from what I heard it is now run by some brothers. They are very nice and very friendly. The guy working the cashier is very friendly and funny he makes me laugh. The food is great the guy working the grill definitely knows how to make a mean chopped cheese. I highly recommend giving these guys a chance despite the previous negative comments.

They’ll try and double charge you on items if you’re not paying attention. I guess go here if you want to be scammed?

The clerk intentionally tried to charge me for more items than I was purchasing :) fun!

Let’s add another 1 star to the pile.Bought a surprise bag on Too Good To Go, spent five dollars on it, it was a five minute round-trip too. Surprise bags are typically more plentiful, I got three items: a sparkling water, a thing of Keebler’s chocolate chips cookies, and a bad muffin that had left an aftertaste that stayed in mouth for a whole minute. In no way is it worth five dollars nor the five minute round-trip, also I checked the original price what it was supposed to be, it said $15.Just believe all of us and don’t go.

I like the guys that work here. But I do not like the sandwiches from the deli.

Ang

Nastiest deli around rude Spanish speaking about customers but little did you know I understand every word. Your food is gross.

One if the most over priced deli's in the neighborhood.. $5.43 for a egg and cheese on a day old hard roll ! .. The employees just make up the prices , different prices on different days . A ripp off . Many other places in area much cheaper for basic things .

Over priced and food isn't that good??

They make up prices and rip you off. It’s disgusting how they steal from you. Do not go here.

Ray’s is the textbook definition of a true East Village bodega with insanely delicious sandwiches, a reliable selection of household items, & a ton of heart. The folks who work there are friendly & warm. If you order a sandwich a couple of times here, you better believe that they’ll remember you and just how you like it. It’s a small gesture that continuously makes you feel known, appreciated, and not just some stranger but an actual member of the neighborhood/community. I often go here after the gym on weeknights and order their phenomenal tuna-salad sandwich with lettuce, tomato, bacon & mayonnaise on a roll. If I’m feeling feisty, I’ll add avocado. And let me tell you — the sandwich never misses. It’s always on point.Ray’s has also been great for picking up late-night beer if you suddenly realize you’re having people over and you have none, ice, mixers, and all kinds of other beverages including yerba mate. There are, of course, a wide selection of snacks, along with household cleaning products & on-the-go personal hygiene/health items. I highly encourage fellow East Villagers to stop by and try their yummy sandwiches, as well as connect with the down-to-earth folks who work there. If you’re lucky, you might just see their adorable deli cat.
