I had dinner tonight at Red Eye Grill on 7th Avenue, NYC and the experience was absolutely outstanding, largely thanks to Rene. From the moment we sat down, he made us feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of. His service was professional, efficient, and incredibly attentive without ever feeling rushed or intrusive.
Rene knows exactly how to elevate a dining experience. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, gave great recommendations, and made sure everything came out perfectly timed. The food was amazing, but his service is what truly made the night memorable. You can tell he takes pride in what he does, and it shows in every detail. If you’re dining at Red Eye Grill, ask for Rene. He’s the kind of server who turns a great meal into a great experience.

Red Eye did it again, a wonderful meal and experience! Our third visit did not disappoint us!
This was our first time at the restaurant, and we chose the Restaurant Week menu. The food was excellent, the portion sizes were great, and everything was beautifully prepared. We really enjoyed the experience and would absolutely come back.
We spent New Year's Eve at Redeye Grill and it was absolutely fantastic.
The service was excellent from start to finish-professional, attentive and genuinely welcoming. The food was outstanding, beautifully prepared and full of flavor, and the overall atmosphere made the night feel truly special.
The organization for the evening was flawless. Even the transition to going outside for the Ball Drop was handled in an extremely smooth and professional way, making the whole experience stress-free and exciting. Everything felt well planned and perfectly managed.
Great food, great service, great party, and a beautiful location.

It was very quiet, but we went on a Wednesday at noon, so can't speak to the noise level at dinner. My salmon was cooked perfectly to my order and tasted delicious. For dessert, my friend and I split the banana cream pie -- my friend wanted it but I tend to dislike it when I've had it elsewhere -- was fabulous! I know why it's a house specialty. Service bonus: I errantly left my credit card when I left the signed check. I couldn't call the restaurant when I realized it a few hours later, because Verizon had a nationwide outage at the time, so I just returned and they had it at the front desk. Much appreciated!! A nice find in the theater area.
This is our favorite restaurant in NYC! We always eat here in between our Broadway matinee and the 8pm show. Our server was amazing, the food was FANTASTIC (especially the dancing shrimp - SO DELICIOUS) and the ambience is brilliant!
We were a large group having dinner before a 7pm play. The service was very good, paced well and everyone enjoyed their meal. Can't ask for anything more.

Third time I've been there and each time the Wild Salmon with Mushrooms was excellent...tho a bit dry this time. The offering to all patrons of warm chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven, was, as always, greatly appreciated!!
The Red eye grill is certainly not as lovely as it used to be a few years ago. The menu is scanter, you have to pay a fortune for a piece of bread. The piano player was AWFUL and way too loud. The waiter didn't even ask us if we wanted coffee at the end of the meal. Just is not the same wonderful old place.
I can't believe it! The cost of a meal here is equivalent to a week's rent. Just basic food, average service and a decent selection. While the atmosphere is lovely, the price tag is enough to make anyone think twice.

On New years’ Eve, we wandered into Red Eye for appetizers and drinks choosing to sit at the bar. The service behind the bar was at first slow (even through at 2:30 it was not close to being busy) but then improved once the bartenders switched (from a male to a female we do not know their names). The issue came when my wife became dizzy and faint: As thi has happened we kne what she needed and again the female staff were prompt, our neighbors at the bar were helpful and concerned and my wife did for herself what she needed. Here’s our issue: We later told that the individual who was rude and contentious with my wife as she sat in a low chair at the bar (for her blood pressure) he actually tried picking a fight over something she had said in her near-faint state, which I knew to be a light comment to offset the seriousness of her condition. Imagine in her confused state that “some guy” who saw her medical situation and who later turns out to be the manager, actually picks a fight with her as she is flushed and unsteady! This review is only the 1st step as we feel by his wording to her that he was being a bully and a sexist.
This will be reported to the proper authorities. Oh, and by the way….making her stay at the bar and not happening her to a low table did not help her medical situation. And, the guacamole we took to-go had several avocado stems in it which were in our mouths!
