I think this is an unfriendly Mexican restaurant, which l used to like, but now survives mainly because there is no competition. The food is dry and flavorless. They greatly raised their prices after Covid, and now even charge a fee to use a credit card. They charge for every little item, and seem to actually despise their customers. Several times now l have been floored by the rudeness of the waiters. Compared to the wonderful Mexican restaurant on E.86th, with good prices, Fabulous food, incredible drinks, friendliness and respect for the customers, and excellent ambiance, l find this place disappointing on almost every level.

The service is great, and the food has never disappointed. I have been going to this restaurant for years and I will continue to do so. The fajitas are tasty, the burritos are amazing, and the drinks are nicely done. The vibe is also great, I love their selection of music. I've Never had anything to complain about at Refried Beans. Keep doing what you guys do!!!

The Supreme Nachos are amazingly good I get it every time the flavors are great. The Black bean soup is amazing. The chips and guacamole are great and yum… so is is their home made salsa and chips!

This place has been awesome for 15 years! They have excellent specials and tried-and-true staple meals. Chimichanga is a fan favorite in our family, and the seafood soup is phenomenal. Staff is excellent, top-notch. It's a friendly place with high quality food. The decor is cheerful and fun and vibrant. We've been here on date night, or with the kids, or to celebrate a birthday. I had the Seafood Burrito which was large and good but had a little too much liquid inside. I also tried one of their new Margaritas which was delicious. Service was good and I enjoyed my streetside views from a closed in area. I was hungry so forgot to take pictures. ??♀️

Cute, small place with indoor or outdoor dining. Went for a quick bite and got possibly the best chicken tamale I’ve ever eaten! The preparation was not traditional - sort of deconstructed - but it worked! A pure masa tamal (no filling) is opened, mashed a bit and topped with delicious, juicy charcoal-grilled chicken, guajillo sauce, and shredded cheese. Served with tasty rice and beans. Staff was professional and courteous. Clean restaurant (and restroom.) ??
