The ingredients are great, the atmosphere is great, the sincerity is top notch. Kosa is on hold. A small and warm environment. Thank you for your interest and taste.

This unassuming sandwich shop is an homage to a bygone era of Italian sandwich shops I grew up going to. The walls are littered with vintage photos from a family photo album. And the shelves are covered with Italian olive oil and other staples of Nona’s kitchen. The shop is small, with only a few two-top tables against the walls. The menu is also small and features a small selection of classic combinations of Italian deli meats, a few based on chicken and at least one of chicken of the sea. There are also salads, but I didn’t see anyone ordering one, so let’s say a sandwich is the move. Each sandwich is about 8”-10” and is made on classic American Italian bread—firm on the outside and spongy on the inside to absorb the EVOO (extra virgin olive oil.I ordered an Uncle Jimmy (see photo) w/o cheese, and my buddy ordered the Uncle John. Both are classic and as advertised—just the right balance of protein to bread to vinegar and veg.I think this might be my new favorite spot. I can’t eat deli meat every day, so I might only be able to make a pilgrimage once every couple of weeks, but I know my fictitious Nonna would be proud that I am eating well.

Cute mom and pop shop vibes inside with about 4 tables to sit at. The Uncle Jimmy had a nice kick to it. The sandwiches are large and was a great size to split between two for lunch.

The Italian-American family owned vibes at @reginasgrocery is so cute! They have a couple seats for a cozy indoor dining experience. The mozzarella was fresh and my first bite already reminds me so much of Italy ??

Had the Uncle Jimmy and the sausage and pepper special. The Uncle Jimmy was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had, and I made sandwiches for a living for 15

I'm so glad someone told me about this place! They said they have great sandwiches, and they truly do. I had the Uncle Jimmy, and it was all that. It's a whole in the wall with cool people taking care of you, Lower Eastside style, just how it should be. Love it.

Long overdue review. Worth checking out if you're in the city and you like sandwiches, especially Italian sandwiches. No frills place. It's tiny - basically just order at the counter. There isn't really seating inside, just a two topper outside. There wasn't a line when I went, but it took awhile to get our order because they prioritized pick up / delivery orders. I got the Uncle Jimmy without the hot pepper spread because I can't do spicy. The other person I was with got the same, but with the spread. Sandwiches didn't come with as much meat as some other spots and we did ask for extra balsamic, but overall it was good. Crunchy bread and fresh ingredients!
