Despite this being the absolute worst location I've ever been to (always super watered down & bland tasting ice on any given day) they are also greedy and do not accept rewards within the Rita's app(birthday reward, etc). You're better off making the trip to Midwood, Brooklyn than this overpriced tourist trap.

It’s always difficult to find an employee- and they never seem to know the recipes for anything on the menu. Today, when I walked up, there was a long line of people who were asking where the employees were. They walked out and disappeared into the back again. One of them returned, and was very slow to service customers. I ordered the strawberry shortcake concrete- which apparently is a mystery on what goes in it. She asked her colleague- who had to tell her where to find the ingredients. I told her that since I was trying to catch the ferry, that she didn’t have to blend it, since I was worried it would take even longer to figure out. I expected to receive strawberry flavor between 2 layers of custard with some type of graham cracker or crunchy aspect on top (it was called strawberry shortcake.) when she was done- it was basically a half done sundae- not worth the almost $8. I looked up an example of what a concrete should look like… night and day. I definitely overpaid. Next time I treat myself, I’ll go elsewhere. Train the staff and post the recipes.

Ordered a Reese's mudslide concrete. Vanilla ice cream and Skippy peanut butter blended. No chocolate pieces or anything. Looks nothing like the advertised photo above the register. When I asked them about it, and brought up that you're using a brand name and none of the branded item, that's false advertising. They shrugged and said that's how they do it here.

Came all the way down from Harlem for them to be out of chocolate custard. Nothing special, just the basic soft serve that I thought would never be out of stock. There are hundreds of ice cream shops in the city but we chose Rita's because we were craving frozen custard, and Rita's in Connecticut has never disappointed. It was definitely a bummer. The staff were friendly, though.

THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY FILTHY ABD DISGUISTINGGGG. I GOT AN ICEE AND IT HAD 2 not 1 ROACHES INSIDE OF IT. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED. I WILL BE REPORTING THIS RESTAURANT AND THEY NEED A HEALTH INSPECTION. I WILL SLANDER THIS LOCATION ON ALL SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS. JUST SEE THE DISGUSTING PICTURE BELLOW

I ordered a Reese’s concrete and I watched the confused worker mix room temp milk from the counter with peanut butter. I asked if they had any Reese’s like in the picture but he didn’t seem to know what Reese’s was. Had to throw it away. Avoid until the health department shuts this place down.

Please don't come here for Ice Cream. This was a live-and-learn situation for us during our stay in lower Manhattan. My girlfriend and I were looking to get frozen custard. We came upon this vendor situated inside the Staten Island Ferry terminal, sharing a spot with Subway sandwiches. In fact, the person who served us the Rita's Ice Cream was a Subway sandwich worker. I suppose the clerks behind the counter manage both franchises. In any event, both our custards were sloppily dispensed inside waffle cones, not completely filled, and we ended up getting charged nearly $20. It was just a complete tourist rip-off.Then we walk out into the area surrounding the South Ferry terminal station where there were several Ice Cream trucks selling larger cones for only $5.Just do yourself a favor and avoid this expensive tourist trap and the clerks who don't care enough to give you a good-sized portion cone when their company is vastly overcharging.
