I’ve been to their EV location. This one is less spicy on the lowest spice level. Skip it and do level 2 or 3.

I like Thai spicy levels and have the level 4 at their EV location. Today, I had the chilli chicken bowl which had just enough spice to make my mouth tingle but not so much that I was sweating. The bowl is so worth the value. $12 before tax and tip AND I could make two meals out of it.

Pro: Cashier was prompt and helpful with the menu.

Con: the kitchen is still trying to figure out lunch rush timing even though they’ve been around for 8+ months. The wait was 15-20 minutes from ordering to receiving. Not good for a midtown spot.

Overall definitely going again because it’s one of the few spots in Midtown I can get SPICE for lunch!

Rowdy Rooster has quickly become our go-to spot for a satisfying, flavorful paneer tikka rice bowl! The paneer here is honestly the best I’ve had in the U.S.—tender and coated in a tandoori spice that’s absolutely scrumptious. The bowl itself is balanced beautifully with rice, fresh salad, and a delicious sauce that ties everything together.

Rowdy Rooster is perfect for a quick bite, with a bright and colorful ambiance that adds to the experience. The staff is always friendly and goes out of their way to recommend the best options, which I really appreciate. And with its location conveniently right outside Penn Station, I find myself indulging here every time I have to go to Penn!

I highly recommend Rowdy Rooster for anyone craving bold and delicious Indian flavors!

I used to love the paneer sandwich—it’s the perfect small bite (yeah, it’s not a full sandwich; more like a quarter sandwich). But yesterday I could t bring myself to eat it. The sandwich was given to me in a greasy, curry-stained takeout container. It made me wonder about kitchen hygiene…and just the general indifference. Next time I will stick to the halal guy at the corner of 32nd, at least I can see his hands are clean.

This has to be the best chicken tikka & Paneer tikka sandwiches I have had. The service at this location is amazing and the taste has been consistent every time we have been or ordered in !!

The staff was nice but the chicken sandwiches made our stomachs upset :( it was too spicy despite asking for mild. They also didn’t have ketchup and no cups for tap water.

This place feels like it’s made for acquired tastes, and it just didn’t work for me this time. The food reminded me of halal but much sweeter, which I didn’t enjoy. The masala fries were crispy and very spicy, and I liked those, but the main dishes weren’t to my taste. The ambiance is nice and chill, so I might come back to revise this review after trying one of their actual sandwiches instead of a rice bowl.

The Big Rowdy Sandwich was everything one can dream of. You get a choice of dark or white meat (I went with white, and it was impressively juicy and crisp). I found the medium spicy to be perfectly hot without burning the tastebuds. The green chutney, cheese sauce(?) and pickled onions made every bite a delight.

Fantastic chicken sandwich.

I walked past this location before and just decided to stop over for a taste. I haven’t had Indian food in a while. This was delicious!! The Big Rowdy Combo hit the spot. You definitely have to know your Heat Level. This chicken sandwich was so flavor filled and the Masala Chips is a great addition. The Mango Lassi is a must have!!
