Long waiting time, bad food quality… The pancakes were as salty as the bill.

Probably my worst experience in New York City
First of all, we immediately felt an electric and sad atmosphere within the service team, the chef yells in the kitchen and we hear him in the dining room.... It is unacceptable towards his staff and towards the customers. The menu is great, but when I order a pastrami sandwich, they tell me it's not time! It was after 10am, so I asked for more time to think about my choice on the menu. After ordering a $7 filter coffee, I ask the waitress if I can have the banana waffles. She answers that there are none. So I ask for banana pancakes. The waiting time is super long. As I look around, I see that people are waiting a long time too. Customers who have left leave behind tables that the service does not clear. It was like being in a canteen. When my order finally arrives on the table, I get my pancakes and fruit salad. The nice waitress tells me that she has no more bananas... I find it almost unprofessional. It's bland, almost edible. Anyway, all the Roxy diner leaves me with is heartburn

Typical overpriced new york food that got us violently sick that started about 6 hours after we ate and we've been like that ever since.

Ordered the beef hash. Was served steak and eggs. Sent it back -- pointed out that the hash on the menu came with peppers and onions, and sauteed potatoes instead of fries, in case it wasn't enough that this was obviously a steak. The server came back with different eggs on the same steak, plus peppers and onions tossed on top. Apparently the kitchen thinks "beef hash" is a hashbrown pattie on the side. Eggs were fine, steak was overdone -- maybe because they didn't ask how I wanted my steak, because I didn't order steak. I blame the kitchen more than the server, but he disappeared after dropping off our food, despite the downstairs area being empty apart from us, and was balancing a balloon on his head while I tried to get his attention, so nobody in this place looks good. The whole menu is overpriced but the portions are good-sized. My girlfriend had no complaints about her cobb salad. We only came here because our usual diner closes at 9pm now, so I just hope to god the GOOD midtown diners go back to pre-COVID hours eventually.

We asked for orange juice and got coffee, we also asked for avocado and didn’t get it. The prices are insane for mediocre food. The bathroom is non hygienic. We wanted to pay by card and the machine wasn’t working, we tried 2 cards. DONT GO!! RUN AWAY!!

Walked for 6 blocks to get here! Hours say open to 1AM get there and it’s closed!! Update your hours!!
I would normally not write such a negative review, but this was really bad. On a Sunday morning at 9 it was empty, which should have made us think twice. The food was greasy and tasted heated up from the day before, except for the breakfast potatoes which were cold, so they forgot to even heat them up. Pancakes were raw, nothing fresh. Maybe take a pass for now and see if things get better in the future.

I don’t give low reviews lightly. We went for a late lunch. There is no kids menu. The one waitress was overworked. We never got water refills or extra napkins. Our food was good with generous helpings but felt overpriced even for NY. Our bill was incorrect by $3 but I paid it anyway just to get out since they were backed up at the register.

Awful service, quality of food poor, Expensive for what you get. Would avoid eating here. Tables and floors were not cleaned properly.

I ate here over the weekend and was stay at a hotel near by, I came in for breakfast and had to catch my fight. The waitress Marie got me in and out quick. Her service was GREAT! And the food was good!
