Service and atmosphere were spectacular! The food on the other hand were just okay.

NYC is not known for its Vietnamese cuisine and was hoping that Saigon Social would make a positive impact. Unfortunately, the iced coffee tasted watered down—nothing like ca phe sua da and the banh cuon tasted like salty drunken noodles. Their banh xeo’s crispiness was good, but lacked flavor.

In my opinion, if you have Asian taste buds, save yourself the time and money from dining here and choose a spot in Chinatown, like Nam Son or Thai Son.

This is the best Vietnamese restaurant I’ve ever been to. It reminds me of my mother-in-law’s home cooked meals, dishes that you can’t find anywhere else. The Vietnamese-inspired cocktails were incredible, the Pandan and Nguyen are the most unique drinks, and they are not sweet. Highly recommend this spot for elevated, authentic Vietnamese food and a great atmosphere.

We have been here twice, and the food just keeps getting better... so tasty! The menu options are different than your typical NYC Vietnamese restaurant menu. The staff is also great.

Creative menu with good variety of choices for both appetizers and entrees. Distinguished flavors from Vietnam and beyond. I have to say my craving for southeast foods (fish sauce + unique sweet/sour) was satisfied for the time being.

I had a great dinner here and would recommend! There is a lovely cocktail menu and each one was delicious. We tried the passion project ($16), tra atiso sour ($15), and oliver's twist ($17). As for food, we started with the banh xeo ($20), which came out perfectly crispy and just the right amount to share between three people. The garlic noodles ($28) were also packed with flavor. The soup of the week was bun bo hue ($22) and it was also rich and savory. A bit pricey, but not out of the norm for the LES and the portion sizes were generous and packed with meat. Service was quick and attentive. We had a reservation in advance, and this place filled up pretty quickly on a Friday night so I definitely recommend making a reservation.

Saw this place on TikTok, wanted to give it a try, but the two dishes we got were disappointing.

We got two things:

1) Beef pho: soup tasted watered down. I did not want to finish it.

2) bun cha hanoi: each individual component of this dish is tasty, but the proportions are wildly off. We were left with not enough fresh greens/herbs or noodles, and a bowl full of pickled carrots/turnips.

Fried crab rolls I liked the most. We wrapped rolls in the lettuce leaf and added some dressing on top. It was delicious. Fried rice was good but not special. Beef PHO was ok. I didn’t like hair on the beef’s skin ? In general we liked atmosphere and dining in Saigon

Now, I can better understand how Chef Nguyen preferred Bobby Flay’s Faux Beef Pho over Rob Lam’s traditional Pho. Besides keeping that foot in the door, according to Peeps, they simply don’t do good Pho.

I have heard good things about this restaurant so I decided to check it out for lunch on the weekend. We ordered the banh beo and grilled lemongrass ribs for appetizers and for entree we ordered the bun cha Ha Noi and banh mi burger. Everything was very flavorful and delicious. Growing up eating home-cooked Vietnamese food, I tend to be very picky with my Vietnamese food, but this place did impress me. It was elevated but not too much. Also, the prices were reasonable.

The garlic noodles are really good, the taste of wok hey mixed with tiny crunchy texture from the fish roe is perfect for me.

Not 100% feeling the fried soft shell crab, as it doesn’t have much flavor to it and the texture of the dough is not great.

They were very kind to give us a side order or broth, which goes really well with the noodle dish.
