Absolutely fantastic hangover cure. We showed up 45 minutes ahead of opening, and were third? Fourth? In line- worth ever minute. It was also like $40- also worth every dollar. It was pretty quick, and the hostess was super friendly!

All hype, no flavor. Only thing you leave with is a salty aftertaste

SO SALTY 🫩. The sandwich it self is fine but the dip is pure sodium… what’s the hype about? Just go grab a handfull of salt from your cupboard and dunk it in your mouth. To be fair I guess I was warned since this place is called SALT Hanks.

Respectfully, don’t waste your time :( I was excited to try this place and was disappointed. Felt SO SICK after.. someone should check on their health rating. The place is very overwhelming and I felt very rushed

Sandwich was solid. Not sure I would wait in line for it again even though I enjoyed it very much. I got on line at 12:15pm and was seated by 12:50 pm on a Friday. Fries (more like chips) were good but an order is enough for 2 people. I wish I ordered the coleslaw as the meal needed something fresh as it pretty heavy.

French Dip Combo:
French Dip
Shoestring Fries
Can of Brooklyn Peach Tea

Located in the west village directly off the five corner intersection is a restaurant that sells primarily french dip sandwiches.

These specialty sandwiches are so popular that there will always be a wait to place an order.

Here is the meal I explored from this limited menu.

French Dip Combo:
This combo includes the french dip, shoestring fries, and can of Brooklyn tea.

On a constructive note, I wasn’t too fond of the appearance, especially with the shoestring fries just sloppily thrown onto the plate.

As soon as I took my first bite, the appearance didn’t matter because this signature sandwich was phenomenal.

The thinly sliced prime rib was packed tight and was topped with melted provolone cheese on a toasted sourdough baguette smothered in garlic aioli. And no french dip is ever complete without a cup of au jus.

The shoestring fries were very skinny and crispy. They had a texture identical to potato chips. Have a spoonful or handful; the choice is yours.

All of this goodness was washed down with a refreshing ice cold can of Brooklyn Peach Tea.

If you wish to take home any memorabilia, feel free to purchase souvenirs from the gift shop, in particular a Salt Hank’s cookbook featuring the recipe for the signature sandwich.

The restaurant is only open four days per week, so please plan accordingly.

Although I may have disliked the presentation, I truly loved this specialty signature sandwich.

The best sandwich I’ve ever had. Still think about their French dip sometimes.

Came 1/2 hour before they open, still need to wait 1,5 hours to dine in. Big portion, a bit in a salty side but I like it , crunchy bread . A bit pricey $32 .

Really thought this place was gonna be all hype, but probably the best French dip I've ever had?? Second would be Hillstone.

Yes, it's wildly expensive for just a sandwich, but it is done exceptionally well, so therefore worth the price.

It probably won't travel too well since it's quite saucy, so the best experience will be eating it immediately.

Meh! I love a french dip and this was just ok. The bread however delicious! The service, fantastic. The sandwich was overwhelming. It’s a 4 bites and you’re satisfied kinda situation.

Pretty great French Dip. Definitely not something to be done regularly, as there is a long line (almost an hour and a half wait for Saturday 11:30). Staff are all super friendly and helpful.

Make sure to eat it within 5 minutes as the bread will be crunchiest!

Shoestring fries could be more fry and less shoestring. It’s perhaps too far on that end of the spectrum.
