San Matteo Pizza & Espresso Bar

Simple and delicious. I had their Margherita pizza and the side order of Meat balls to start.

The service is attentive but not overbearing. You can enjoy your meal and any help you need is close at hand.

Really enjoyed, walked in on a busy Friday! Great quick service, drinks were strong and large. The pizza was delicious tasted like Italy.

Service was terrible, food was just ok. The waiter added an extra item to our bill.

We were seated outside and our waiter didn't come back for 10 minutes. Ordered drinks then waited another 10 minutes before they came back to take our food orders. Waited another 30 minutes with no sign of our food.

I went inside to check up on our food and the waiter said our food hadn't even gone in the oven yet! The waiter said there were a lot of online orders before ours. To me it doesn't make sense to prioritize online orders over in-person customers but ok.

Finally our food comes out a few minutes later and it's lukewarm. The pizza was soft and blonde on the bottom, no color whatsoever. That's my fault I guess, I shouldn't have tried to rush our already extremely slow food /s.

To top it all off, the waiter added an extra item to our bill. We only noticed after paying, and that took another 10 minutes to resolve.

Overall, very mid experience. Do not recommend going here if you value any of the following: quality of food, timely service, not being overcharged.

Lovely environment for Monday lunch. Lots of seating, yummy appetizers. The food was delicious. It was pretty hot temperature wise when we came in and sat indoors and they turned on the air and that helped a lot! The server Laura was very sweet and the bartender was making very nice drinks!

Accidentally left my card here for a couple of hours and suddenly a bunch of random charges started appearing on my bank account for DoorDash which is a delivery service I do not use. These charges so far have amounted up to 500 dollars. Do not dine here. Food is okay

Incredible servers, food and value. Will be back. Gnocchi was out of this world. Nutella pizza for dessert, too.

Was in the mood for Neapolitan pizza for a while and this place delivered! Service was quick and friendly. I had a “Prosciutto e Bufala” pizza to go that was good but I wished there was actually some buffalo mozzarella on the pizza. When I asked about it I was told the cheese was under the prosciutto, but I couldn’t really find it.

Oh wow. I used to live down the block and order from there all the time. That was about 7 years ago. It’s still amazing. Really the best pizza in nyc. They were very kind to my wife daughter and I. Terrific! Every pizza and pasta dish are amazing.

We had not been to San Matteo to have your pizzas in a while. At this new location, the pizzas were too thin and not crispy at all on the bottom- they were actually soggy and didn't hold the toppings! Although they tasted delicious, it was not what we remembered from the original location on 90th and second.

From Wv 2nd visit for me and the 1st visit for my wife. Both first visits to San Matteo was anything short of amazing. The staff, food and service were amazing. Truly an amazing experience that I truly enjoyed. THANK YOU.
