We went for an early dinner before a show at Lincoln Center. We had been to Sapphire a number of times at its previous location further down on Broadway. The decor at the original restaurant was much more interesting and elaborate; it had the feel of India. This was a generic type of place, but the tables were well-spaced out and we were comfortable there. Food was very good. We had lasuni gobi for an appetizer and then main courses were tandoori prawns and lamb sag. Onion kulcha bread was especially good. Prices were reasonable for the area. Service as excellent. Recommend if you live in the area or are attending a performance at Lincoln Center.

The service was abominable. Host and maybe 2 waiters for a packed restaurant. Tables were so close together you couldn't get in or out without disturbing the people next to you. We had a 5:45 reservation and an 8:00 curtain at Lincoln Center. We barely made it in time for the concert. The waiter took our order and disappeared. Every time we asked when our food was coming he would say he will check and never came back to tell us. There is no ambiance in the restaurant. Food prices went up and portions got smaller. Never going back there. We used to love Sapphire in the old location.

The dishes were freshly made and flavorfull. The Garlic Naan was the best I ever had. The Lamb Vindaloo spice level was good, however some may like it hotter. The interior was very plain and not representative of a fine Indian resturant. Prices were a little high for the total experience.

The food was delicious although somewhat expensive. The ambience was very nice. My only issue was that the service was a bit slow but when the food was served it was hot. The breads were delayed in coming to our table but thankfully while we still had about half of our entrees left. The staff was friendly.

We've been happily going to Sapphire for many years. This is the first time we have been there at the new location. On the good side, the food is the same. Very tasty and enjoyable, as is the attentive service. The interior of the restaurant is not nearly as nice as the old location. It is clean but somewhat bare. We missed the Indian decor of the former place. Is this still under construction? Overall, still a good place to eat on the UWS.

This place is wonderful. Staff very friendly. Food is delicious. Price point is fair for the neighborhood. Try the tandoori chicken. La

Most of the menu was excellent -- especially the mango shrimp which are a new dish for me. Appetizers were disappointing, over priced and not interesting. Put us behind a pillar until I asked to be moved. Tables are too small for all the great dishes and although the restaurant was half empty they wouldn't move 2 of us to a 4 top table.

I tried to be fair, this is my fourth time. Not the best Indian food , but better than others in UWS yet they’re cheap, they don’t offer rice with any main dish which not the case if you go to any other restaurants, also they charge you $19 for a veggie dish without rice , the okra came very oily and the rice wasn’t freshI don’t think I’m going back

We have loved this restaurant for more than 20 years. Although we preferred the ambience of the former location, the delicious food and understated, fine service and friendly proprietor remain consistently excellent.

Our dinner was amazing and the team read the open table note that we were celebrating a birthday, without being asked they brought out a birthday dessert with a candle. The staff is lovely!!

Overpriced bland food but generous portions and attentive (tho not especially informative) service. Was fine but I wouldnt run back.

Walking along the street when we stumbled across this restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere and the quality of the food. We love Indian food and this restaurant has a wide selection of authentic dishes. We talked with one of the Owners, who was greeting patrons this particular evening. He told us the recipes used for his Tikka Masala and Vindaloo had been in his family for generations. The food was delivered promptly at the proper temperature and was delicious. In addition to great entrees, they have a very nice desert menu as well.

What a gem! This is a wonderful neighborhood Indian restaurant near Lincoln Center. The owner was so nice and inviting. He gave us his recommendations at our request and every dish was delicious. Very authentic and well prepared. If you're in the mood for a nice dining experience, do yourself a favor and go to Sapphire. It does not disappoint.

Again as before food was excellent. Pleasant seating outside, fast and courteous service. Food was outstanding perfectly spiced, well cooked. Each dish tasted different. only issue on desert my wife ordered two flavor ice cream; waiter said either one or the other. So she ordered one flavor but the order came with two scoops. Ridiculous that they could not give her the two different flavors=two scoups rather than giving us two scoups of the same flavor.

Food was generally quite good, but...Our mango shrimp dish had a couple of shrimp that tasted a bit "off" and too mushy (probably from having been frozen?) Excellent appetizers.
