My wife and I were super excited about Scarpetta when we booked the reservation. The food is good, don't get me wrong, but we did not think it was as good as we thought it would be. I had the Ravioli Cacio Pepe and my wife had the Halibut. Again, both were good. The best part was the dessert. We had the Burnt Honey Orange Mousse. That was excellent. The bussing service was outstanding and very timely and the overall service was good. The worst part about the entire situation was that we were seated at a small table in between two 3 top tables and it felt like everyone was on top of one another. All in all, absolutely nothing "wrong" here, just not what we were hoping for.

I rarely write reviews, but my recent experience at Scarpetta left me no choice. While the food was great and our server was attentive and professional, the overall experience was ruined by the incredibly rude hostess and a manager who seemed completely uninterested in addressing the issue.

From the moment we walked in, the hostess acted like we were an inconvenience. She was dismissive, short, and visibly annoyed when we asked about the wait time—even though the restaurant wasn’t overly busy. Her tone and attitude were completely uncalled for, setting a terrible tone for the evening.

When we brought this to the manager’s attention, he barely acknowledged our concern, offering a half-hearted apology that felt more like he was brushing us off than taking us seriously. For a place with such good food and great service from the waitstaff, it’s shocking that the front-of-house team is so poorly managed.

Unfortunately, first impressions matter, and we left feeling like our business wasn’t valued. I won’t be returning anytime soon.

The staff was amazing and the food was delicious. They did warn us that the pasta dishes were smaller servings than the rest of the entree dishes, but it was even smaller than I had pictured. The staff was very knowledgeable, and friendly. I would definitely visit again but I'd probably order three pasta dishes to feed two people. The appetizer and dessert we had were delectable as well.

His attention to detail, warm demeanor, and excellent recommendations added so much to our dining experience. From start to finish, everything was flawless. If you're looking for a top-tier dining experience in the city, Scarpetta is a must-visit.
