Had the smoked tuna on matzoh during Passover. Everything was delicious. Really enjoyed the touch of heat.Obviously it's not cheap, but I thought the lunch special was a good price for good quality food

This place is a continuous disappointment. Sadly because I love pickled foods and fish. When you buy an $18 sandwich, you’re getting mostly bread and a tiny amount of fish, egg salad, etc.

You won’t find anyone else who loves herring as much as I do.I tried all dishes with herring here.The sandwich (baguette itself) was tasty, there weren’t much herring though, but overall - it was good. When I tried herring on the plate - I couldn’t finish it, the fish was too salty. Matjes on of the softest and gentlest types of herring, but the way it was salted - awful.For the amount of fish on the plate I would say that it was a bit overpriced.

Sandwich had mingy amount of filling. Herring in sour cream was amazingly salty. Whitefish salad....meh! Bread crispy good. Overall, fugedaboudit !

Loved the signature herring sandwich, but the highlight was the December special:3 latkes topped with 3 types of fish:- Matjes herring- Smoked tuna- Smoked whitefishThe tuna was surprisingly delicious; it may have been my favorite of the 3.

First time eating a herring sandwich. The baguette was superb, interesting salty herring, but it needed more acid to cut the saltiness, and I probably would have preferred more spice.I’ll try the spicy tuna next time, and with high hopes.

Just had the herring sandwich. Wow! Was going to do the sardines but it was made clear to me I should start with their signature herring (which I've taken out separately on its own) and I am thankful for that recommendation! Next up for me is the sardine sandwich. So happy these folks are in the neighborhood. The best fish!

Not recommended at all. I ordered a Matjes Herring sandwich and got a baguette with mostly spreads and onion. It tasted good but not like a fish sandwich of nearly $17.
Ordered the matjes herring sandwich. Perfect. Served on a crunchy French baguette. The fish was delicious and the mayonnaise was light and delicious. Had a tea on the side that had a kiss of sweetness. Do yourself a favor and stop by this gem.

Just ridiculously overpriced. The matjes herring sandwich and costs over $17 including tax. The sandwich consists of half a baguette (generous on the bread and it’s good bread), one little herring filet, some sour cream, a sprinkling of scallions and maybe 2 cherry tomatoes.

Cute place with nice staff. I split the chipotle tuna sandwich which I thought was great. Solid baguette too, killed the roof of my mouth like it’s supposed to. But the highlight for me was the whitefish salad from their prepared food fridge. Best I’ve ever had.

Sooo…Cool, upbeat vibe, knowledgeable, courteous staff. Fast service.Only had one sandwich, so far and it was delicious! Smoked tuna on a French baguette. Generous portion, fresh accoutrements. Even the price, despite the kosher tax, seems right.Will definitely go back to try everything on the menu.P.S. my only issue was the sandwich being a little on the drier side. Perhaps more mayo or additional sauce would make it perfect. For me of course.P.S. 2 went back to try the matjes sandwich.To say it was disappointing would an understatement. Fish wasn’t soaked properly which resulted in unacceptable saltiness. On the top of that there were only a few, tiny slivers of it on my sandwich. Very stingy.Since I still have 6 more sandwiches to try, for the time being I’m keeping 3 stars.
