We went to Shinka on 09/29 and Elazia was the best bartender!!! She was very nice and welcoming. She recommended the Hibiscus drinks and we loved it. We got the Vegan Miso and it was delicious. The pork gyoza was great too!
We went in towards the end of the night and she was busy. She was serving and bartending. We are not from NY, but we'll be back next time we are in town. :)

Beef bone marrow ramen and kakuni pork baos were excellent! It's a pretty cozy little spot and the service was on point. Definitely recommend going if you have the chance.

The bone marrow broth was phenomenal; it reminded me of the ramen I had in Japan. I’ll definitely be going back soon. Service was amazing too. This restaurant is a must-go if you come to New York.

Really solid ramen and great service, relaxing and spacious ambiance. Think they can have smaller noodle portions but the soup is great, favorite is birria
I came across this restaurant from a blogger who called it the best ramen ever. First of all, I would like to give credit to the staff, who provided attentive and detailed service. However, I do have a few issues with hygiene. The main focus was on the cutlery, the chopsticks and spoons on the table were very problematic, the chopsticks were placed head down in the chopsticks bucket, I picked up four pairs and three of them had stains on the heads, I'm not sure if the stains came from the bottom of the bucket or if they weren't brushed clean. I'm not sure if the stains came from the bottom of the chopstick bin or if they weren't brushed off. Then there were the spoons, two of which had dried and stuck noodles and side dishes on them.
Coming back to the food, how good the food is is the most important thing to me. I ordered two bowls of ramen, one bowl of spicy pork bone ramen and one bowl of beef marrow ramen. To be honest, I was shocked by the appearance of the two bowls of ramen when it was served, it was very beautiful, like a work of art. The sides of the two bowls of ramen were very rich and the size of chashu that came with it was huge. But while the two bowls of noodles smelled aromatic, the flavor was very bland, the kind of bland where you put too little salt, in addition, the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen wasn't spicy at all, and I was even skeptical about the layer of red oil in the bowl. The beef marrow ramen on the other hand was much better and you could taste the aroma of the beef fat. Meanwhile the chashu was very unflavorful and the chashu was too tough and too woodsy with no meaty flavor. The ramen itself was middling, as the broth itself was bland in flavor, so the ramen was also flavorless. One thing to commend is the loose egg, it was perfect, like an amber-like loose egg yolk with a very penetrating flavor and just the right amount of saltiness and sweetness.

We are from Toronto and were trying to find a ramen spot. We found Thai randomly and we have no regrets. This place serves up such amazing ramen the quality of the meat and broth is perfect. Beats Toronto’s ramen spots. I got the birria ramen and it is DELECTABLE. 5 stars!!

Interesting place, it's a little hidden at the top and back of a beer garden in the Chinatown neighborhood, the place was half empty, the attendant was a little depressed I think, he gave us some extra drinks and chatted, very kind, the food isn't there so many options, I ordered ramen which is famous there, it has won awards and everything, but to be honest it wasn't absurdly good, I had higher expectations than the place actually delivered, but I recommend it to the entire community

Happy to found this place still opened in the neighbourhood when lots of others restaurants were closed. We ate several sides, each one were tasty, and the service was really nice :)

Okay....this place has set the bar really really high for ramen. (Ugh!)
I ordered the SPICY TONKOTSU ($16). Holy crap it was so tasty!! We were still full from bakery hopping in Chinatown, but still made room for this. I'm not gonna lie...I do wish it was spicier. The extra sauce they gave om the side was more sweet than spicy. There were two pieces of pork, more on the fatty side. My friend ordered the ramen with duck ($16).
The staff were super friendly as well. They were easy to talk to, and were accommodating. They were able to seat us immediately. As soon as I checked in on Yelp, I had an offer for a free carafe of hot sake...good thing it was free!
The only bad side of the restaurant was the seating...the bite-sized stools. I get that it's a small space, but maybe some bigger stools would be nice!!
I definitely look forward to returning to this place next time I am in NY.
