Had a lovely lunch after a visit to the Metropolitan Museum. One in my party had the octopus salad, the octopus was cooked perfectly! Not always the case in many restaurants. Amen that offers light fare as well as a full lunch.
We met my cousins for breakfast there because they had reservations open at the time we needed for brunch. The service was good. The coffee was awful. And given that is one of the things I look for in a restaurant, it really undermined the experience for all of us. Otherwise the food was flavorful if standard fare.
I've never felt so rushed at a restaurant — it was almost comical. We hadn't even finished our appetizer before the entrées arrived, and the moment we took our last bite, our plates were whisked away and we were immediately asked about dessert. Even as we were leaving, we were told to move quickly because of food trays coming through.
