Wonderful. Although we are East Siders, we had never visited Sistina until an event nearby sent us in search of a convenient dinner spot. What a terrific find. The service was impeccable. The menu is superfluous as Antonio, our waiter, reeled off a long list of specials for every course. I had a tasty fried oysters dish and a spinach pasta with venison ragu. My wife had a fish dish, and our son had a salad and gnocchi. Then three tasty desserts. A bit pricier than we expected,...
I can’t shout it loud enough…. DELICIOUS!!!!! I regularly go to Rome and have sought out the best Cacio de Pepe. After many restaurant recommendations I found it in Travestere (Rome)…but SISTINA’S was EQUAL! Wow. What a surprise to find a NYC restaurant BETTER than Rome! And.. the gelato? Hands down BETTER than the best of Rome. Seriously.
I was disappointed by my experience at Sistina. Despite having a reservation, I was ignored at the entrance while other patrons were promptly seated — and surprisingly, the host was the owner himself. When we were finally seated, it was at the worst table, right next to a station constantly accessed by staff. The atmosphere was loud, hot, and crowded. The food was good, but nothing extraordinary.
