enjoyed a lovely sunday brunch here! arrived at 12, got seated in around 20-30 mins. my personal favorite was the ricotta hotcake – was super fluffy and perfect sweetness.

matcha was absolutely terrible though…. literally just tasted like milk😭💔 but other than that a delicious, cozy brunch spot

It’s not really a secret but Sonnyboy has a top 5 pancake in NYC. But like I said this is far from a hidden gem people know about this place and they normally have to wait to get in. I suggest taking a “sick day” from work on a Wednesday or Thursday and treat yourself. I also had the shakshuka which was great as well. The shoe string fries with the Sonnyboy seasoning are addictive. Lastly you can find a pretty good matcha latte and ice vanilla latte.

The food was good but the service was bad. the girl kept going on her phone, didnt check on us once. and when we asked her for napkins she forgot about it and then we had to ask someone else after not seeing it for 10 mins. we still tipped 20% but it is just disappointing as we love the food but every time we come here the service is horrible and rude.

The food was great but the service was awful. When we first sat down our table was wet. We got our food and it took like 10 mins to get someone’s attention to bring us cutlery! We never saw our waitress again and she never came to check on us. Which would have been helpful since the coffee we ordered wasn’t coming even after we received our food. Finally we got her attention and I don’t think she originally punched in the order at all. Again when we were ready to pay the bill, no waitress around and took us so long to get someone else’s attention. Often times I saw our waitress standing by the bar and the restaurant is so small I almost feel like it was intentional. Although the food was good I wouldn’t return on the service alone.

I arrived at the restaurant around 10:10. There were two empty tables (one for four and one two-seater), but the server told me to sit at the bar, saying there were no tables available. I asked if I could sit at a table, and she repeated that there were none. I thought maybe they were reserved, so I let it go.

After I ordered, two female servers helped me at different times — one with short hair wearing a grey cropped jacket, and one with long hair. When my food arrived, neither of them checked in to ask how my meal was or if I was okay; they were either on their phones or attending to other tables.

When I ordered the shakshuka, I asked the short-haired girl to add sausage, but she forgot. Halfway through my meal, I mentioned it to the long-haired girl, and she just said, “Oh, she didn’t put that in. If you want, we can make it for you now.” Not a single word of apology.

By 11:15, an hour later, more and more tables became available — up to five empty ones. As I was leaving, there were still three two-person tables open. Only then did a gentleman from the kitchen finally ask me how everything was. (Thank you)

When I paid, the short-haired girl only asked, “Do you want a bag? We don’t take Apple Pay,” leaving the bag on the table. Not a word about my meal, and as I left, no one said “thank you” or acknowledged me in any way.

I’m honestly shocked — how can the service be this bad? The food may have been good, but the complete lack of care ruined the experience. I’ve worked in customer service for 12 years, and I can immediately tell when staff don’t care about their customers. I don’t mind if someone is on their phone, but your attitude, tone, and body language clearly showed that you didn’t care at all.

It’s deeply disappointing. I hope your security cameras captured how unprofessional and inattentive your staff was. I will not be returning.

Your money buys real quality, not just promises. You won't believe the serving size for what you pay. Staff are cordial and solution-focused. I found the inside design surprisingly well-done. Finding this spot makes me glad!

I’m hesitant to write this review because I love this spot SO MUCH I don’t want to risk not getting a seat 😂 That said, their food is out of this world. Coffee is delicious, wait staff is kind. It’s a triple threat in an unsuspecting location. Highly recommend. I typically go for a breakfast hotcake. But it’s really all good.

Food was quite alright, the staff just wanted us in and out. They could have a few more options, which would help.

Out of stock for multiple items on a Saturday morning… below average service. Coffee and food was good. Make sure to bring card because they don’t accept tap to pay.

The waitstaff makes you feel like a welcome guest, not just a customer. They communicate through flavor rather than promises. My reaction was stunned silence. The workers provided timely attention with polite and accommodating attitudes. A genuinely exceptional experience.

The quality of the food and the speed of which it comes out is top notch. Such an inviting place to hang for brunch. Inside is busy and bright, patio/street seating is perfect for a nice summer day. Highly recommend!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Ricotta pancakes and the burrito. They were delicate, fluffy, the right amount of syrup. The food was terrific and the ambience was on par with the food. However, I think it might have been an off day, but the service was horrible. It took 15 minutes before our server, which may have been the host too, to take our order. He did not check in with us, fill our waters, and forgot two extra requests we had ordered. It was not busy, which made me confused. We had to get another server to get us the check. Again, the food was fantastic and well made. I would go back, but I think the service was just off that day.
