Hosted my wife’s birthday brunch here and I have to say the service was amazing.The hostess handled setting things up and hiding the cake for us. Music was great and the food was just as good. If looking to have a great brunch I would 100% recommend Son’s of Essex.

I use to come here many many years ago and decided to try it out again. The menu for brunch is small. The day I went they didn't have steak and a couple different ingredients to make so of the drinks on their menu. So I decided to order French Toast and it came out cold. The rest of my group stated that there food was subpar. Our favorite thing was the tots. The drinks are expensive and weren't good. I tried 4 different drinks and none of them were balanced. My group and I enjoyed the music but the atmosphere needs some upgrading.Overall I had an ok experience because the Manger tried her best to accommodate. She was amazing.

The manager here is incredibly rude. On saint patricks day bar brawl we were drinking on the street nearby. She told us we can’t drink in front of her so we went around the corner. Then we got on the line and waited, didn’t have any alcohol on us. We get to the front and she says “I haven’t changed my mind about this group” and the bouncers told us to get off the line. We asked what the issue is because we had no alcohol on us and waited on line like everyone else. The manager clearly has some kind of power trip and doesn’t want business for some reason. Garbage place, garbage people.

Came here for the first time this past Sunday for my bdy brunch with 7 friends. Cool NYC vibes and decor! The host and servers were very helpful from the time we got there.. checking to make sure we were ok! Great for bdy gatherings- You can enjoy the music and still hear each other for conversation! Not sure how it is later night for conversation.

They didnt inform us until we ordered that they we're completely out of chicken which, given their menu size. Only left a few options, none of which 70% of my party could eat due to dietary restrictions. No other compensations were made. The food we were able to order was poor quality too. It wasnt busy but staff felt frantic. And the music wasnt as good as its been before

When choosing a birthday restaurant some people choose vibes and some people choose food. My friend wanted the vibes - and this place did deliver on that. The DJ was great, dim lights, strong drinks. However, the food was genuinely inedible. I ordered a veggie burger which was subpar and the fries seriouslyTasted like they took yesterday’s fries and refried them to serve for the day we went. I don’t think anyone I went with cared for their food. The ice cream tower thing with the sparkler was also not worth the money. I’d never come back here.

This place was terrible. No flexibility on brunch, I didn’t even want to drink!! I was there for my friend’s birthday. My coke was super flat and my hangar steak came out super charred and cold af. Definitely will not be coming back here.
Food was good! I had a salad and added the cornflake fried chicken breast. Hubby had chicken and waffles. Met the GM Emmy…she was great and found a pair of sunglasses for me after asking where might I be able to purchase some nearby! And they matches my outfit! This place was super cool!

Their website touts a high energy and structured 90 minute deadline for guests. It was super laid back and normally that would be amazing but we had a flight to catch. The service was very slow but very nice server and amazing food. Dj was some average guy on a laptop- not what it seemed based on the website description. Overall beautiful experience! Music was awesome. Food even better!

Sons of Essex never disappoints on service , food , drinks , and their amazing ambiance . If you love music, they have an amazing dj spinning all types of music , you won’t be able to resist the urge to dance . Definitely pay them a visit with your crew .
