Verlaine offers good tacos with an interesting Asian fusion and tasty fries. It is a lively spot more suitable for drinks than a calm dinner. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, especially for a date, and the environment, food, drinks, and ambiance are amazing, making it hard to leave once you step in. The lychee martinis are still regarded as some of the best in town and are delicious and worth the hype. The happy hour, which runs until 10 PM, features $8 cocktails and is very worth it. The service is generally decent, with friendly and efficient staff, although some customers have noted that one server can be a bit rude. Food is average but reasonably priced, and gratuity is included in the bill, so there is no need to tip extra unless the service is exceptional. The place has a touch of French poetry in the heart of New York, with good cocktails and an animated ambiance from a musical background. Staff is not pushy about ordering. On weekends after 8 PM, it gets very crowded, making it difficult to find a place to even stand, but arriving earlier is worth it.
