This place is so good — I’m loving the vibe! The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Dan Dan noodles with vegan beef (and yes, the name is Spicy Moon, so brace yourself for a little heat — in the best way). I paired it with their crisp Dragon Lager, but you can also go for the complimentary water they provide.
They have two charming outdoor seating areas, which are perfect for enjoying gorgeous East Village weather. But honestly, the interior is so warm and inviting, you might want to eat inside just to soak up the decor.
The service was top-notch — the young gentleman who helped me was attentive, on point, and incredibly accommodating.
If you’re in the Lower East Side (or anywhere nearby) and craving flavorful vegan Chinese–Thai–Asian fusion that’s actually good for you, Spicy Moon is a must-visit.

Pound for pound one of the best vegan restaurants in all of the city. Everything tastes good. It's actually very hard to choose what you want to eat because the selection is wide but the flavors are deep. Cute! Little date restaurant. Not usually a weight but calling in does help beforehand. The staff is incredible. They have amazing sake at the bar. Please go here. Don't even continue to read any of the reviews. Just go here.

Such good vegan food. I loved the wonton soup, Dan Dan noodle, and garlicky greens. I also really love how they use biodegradable to-go containers!

My family and I had a wonderful time at Spicy moon over the weekend. Our favorites: the Dan Dan noodles, Brussels sprouts, char siu bao, and, at Hector’s recommendation, the delicious wontons in chili oil. Everything was delicious— the staff cares about the food, and it shows. Highly recommend.

A cozy and delicious culinary experience with incredible service. We had just landed in NYC after a long flight and needed a spot to eat and reset for the day. Hector, ensured we were well taken care of, checked our dietary needs and introduced us to a new bakery product that the restaurant had recently developed. Each item we ordered was delicious and customized to our spice level preferences. We enjoyed it all - the edamame, cumin fries, Lo Mein, fried rice, and the spring rolls. Congratulations on running a 10/10 restaurant!

It is a mystery to me why this is a popular vegan spot. You have to pay extra for protein which makes the dishes really expensive, while the taste is sort of alright at best:( And the proteins are just added on top, not flavored, pretty dry, etc. Servers are the best, though!

I've been a customer of Spicy Moon since they opened their original location in the West Village. When they opened a second location on E 6th street, I was very happy. Normally I don't write reviews but after the last order I placed (6/20/2025) I feel compelled to do so. I placed an order for Lomein with vegan beef, string beans and and order of Spring Rolls. My meal, including tax came to over $65. I realize everything is expensive, especially take out, these days so I expect quality. I didn't get quality this time. The Lomein was okay as were the string beans, but the spring rolls were practically inedible. Soggy and full of grease! I should have known when the sealed spicy mayo container had NOTHING in it! On a previous order they forgot to include it at all. The spring rolls aren't cheap either - $10.50! The next time I order (if there is a next time), I'll double check my order before leaving the restaurant.

TLDR; Dan Dan noodles are to die for
I wish I had come here when I was ravishingly hungry because I definitely feel like I missed out on so much good food. We only ordered the spicy dumplings and Dan Dan noodles - they were both super good, really flavorful and very comforting.

My favorite restaurant in the city!! Cannot go wrong with the green beans and I love the dry pepper style tofu. This location is small, so it’s best for small groups if you’re dining in (make a reservation) and great for takeout. They serve beer and wine but not hard alcohol/liquor at this location.
