Their plain slice is a respectable $1 slice. Fresh crust, sparse mozz, sauce a bit sweet. The other pies looked lovingly assembled, so worth trying. Chipper service, quaint digs. Open late is a plus. A keeper for the LES.
This is a solid local pizza shop that I'm happy to support any chance I'm in the neighborhood. Don't let the other reviews fool you, this is not your typical $1 slice. To me, the run of the mill $1 slice is similar to grade school cafeteria pizza where the crust is too chewy and is a bit limp when folding it. Here you'll find a nice thin crispy bottom that folds well in true NY fashion. The sauce maybe a tinge on the sweet side, but I prefer this to the sauces...
Beautiful people, wonderful customer service. The place is tiny but they have a large variety to choose from as far as your pizza is concerned. They deliver too and in a flash their delivery guy gets it done folks. Great taste great service you'll like it. I definitely enjoyed Stanton Pizza.
