Starchild Rooftop Bar & Lounge

Wonderful cocktails, dazzling views of the skyline, and above and beyond service. Located on the rooftop of CIVILIAN Hotel in Times Square. This place was perfect for pre show drinks and treats and post show cocktails. Dave Nowinsky provides next level service and made us feel so welcome and cared for during our visit. A must see.

The vibe is nice and intimate. The only thing is they only have small plate meals. The food did taste great but you will have to order a few plates to be full. Its a beautiful and nice place to enjoy gorgeous atmosphere. The place has great backdrop of the city to take amazing pictures. The staff is very respectful and friendly. They make you feel like family. The general manger was very hospitality and understanding. The music was nice. The dj played a variety of different musical genres. Overall great place to come and enjoy the vibe.

While searching for a rooftop bar to catch the sunset, we came across Starchild Rooftop Bar & Lounge. This bar has great views! To pair with the sunset, we got the Two Sip Martini and two Sparkplugs. While small… I really liked the size and thought they were fun. I can’t comment on the food, as we did not eat, I recommend this rooftop!

Starchild Rooftop Bar & Lounge was unfortunately a disappointing experience. The night started with long lines for the slow and small elevators, and despite having a 5:30pm reservation, we weren’t seated until after 5:55pm. On top of that, we were rushed out before 7:15pm because of a 7:30pm private event. The waitress did her job but added nothing in terms of vibe, energy, or hospitality. For a place that markets itself as an elevated rooftop experience, the service and overall flow really missed the mark.

Our server was Sofie and she was amazing! The food was absolutely delicious (Arancini was delicious!!!) and our drink were really special! If you like spicy try the Fever Dreams!!! The jazz band was really nice too! At the end of our evening Derek the manager came to our table to thank us and ask if we enjoyed the evening! We would love to return and will definitely recommend! 5 Stars!

Decided to check this spot out with my cousin on a Thursday night and TBH we were both blown away. Felt like we were at a 5 star resort. Dave the manager came over and chatted with us, the bartenders poured heavy and the atmosphere/vibe of the spot had me bookmark it for future visits. Even had a DJ booth set up inside. 6/5 stars.

I truly enjoyed my experience at Starchild Rooftop. The service and atmosphere were excellent, creating a memorable visit. While I would have liked to see a bit more variety in the food options, everything was still delightful. I especially appreciated the mocktail selections—they were creative, versatile, and made the menu feel inclusive.

Made a reservation for 11:15pm for an outside table. When we arrived I am asked inside or outside, I say outside. We are told that there are no outside tables at the moment, but one will be opening up. She offers to put us inside until it opens up and move us outside. So we go sit down inside, we wait twenty minutes for the girl to come take out drink order. Then we wait another 15 minutes for our drinks. Meanwhile there is a man walking around with a bottle, someone who worked at starchild, pouring it into big tables of women’s mouths. The music was also very plain and simple, just beats for the most part. We then decided to just finish our drinks and leave. The drinks were 22 for cosmo’s and 23 for a beer. Which is kind of normal for nyc rooftop. However we were there over an hour, never got moved outside, it was a joke. We were celebrating a 21st Birthday and this is how it was treated!

Incredible views, wonderful staff, an overall excellent experience. Late night activations on Thursday - Saturday include a live DJ. Located on the roof of the civilian hotel, this is a true gem of the theatre district / Hell’s Kitchen.

Starchild rooftop bar and it was absolutely incredible! The host Jasmine and the general manager took great care of us while we are on our trip from Cleveland Ohio. It was also my girlfriend’s birthday, and they helped make her birthday extra special. Views are insane and service was impeccable! Would recommend this to anyone in the city.
