This was not my first time at Starchild Rooftop Bar & Lounge, and certainly will not be my last! The atmosphere is fantastic, the drinks are exquisite, and the service is warm and welcoming. Special thanks to Derek Marmolejos for his charming and professional service! To the rest of the team at Starchild, great job!

We asked at reception for a free table. We were asked to go to the bar and told that we would be picked up as soon as something became available, even though there were a lot of tables free. After two drinks still nothing.

My roommate and I had our birthday party at Starchild, and it was the BEST decision ever! Stevie and his team did such a great job of making sure we had a wonderful night. I can’t remember the name of our server, but she was amazing! She helped us with everything—from taking drink orders to setting up our cake to even cutting it up for our guests! The DJ was so much fun, we had a great corner of the bar for our guests to sit when they wanted a break from dancing. The views and photos we got to take were the best! 10/10 would recommend hosting a birthday or special event here!

My roommate and I had our 23rd birthdays here. Stevie went above and beyond to make it a truly magical night for us. Love the cozy atmosphere, good view and wonderful staff. Our waitress was great and helped us with the candles on our cake, and making our drinks cute for photos. So excited to go back!

Worst doorman ever experienced in NYC, tried to be nice to him but was very rude throughout the whole interaction, wanted to charge $300 for a minimum bar tab then tried to up it to $400 thinking we wouldn't notice, could not have had a worse experience and highly recommend no one to visit and for that doorman to be fired

It is beautiful, but I was shocked to find my Tito’s +Soda was $22. I’d pay that for a craft cocktail in this setting but that’s steep for vodka soda.

After a disappointing meal elsewhere I booked Starchild for myself and my partner. This turned out to be the best decision I could have made as we absolutely loved the atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and professional. The views were great and the overall feel of the place was very warm. We had visited on holiday from the UK and would 100% recommend this place for a cocktail and a meal with a view

This is for the receptionist. I was guest of the hotel and came across the really uncomfortable situation of losing my key while on a night out. Just a couple days earlier I noticed the reception of the hotel being empty at late hours and nobody was picking up the phone so I try to call the bar to find a way to make sure I’d be able to access the hotel. The lady was one of the rudest people I’ve ever interacted with, bluntly said she didn’t know what to do, how to help, and hung the phone on me while I was talking. Regardless of this attitude being beyond unprofessional, she was literally working in the same building and as it turned out later she would have been able to help if she wanted to. Woman to woman, I found it quite disgusting she had no regards for my concerns of being stuck outside at such late hours, by myself. I made sure to call back and let her know, hoping the call just got interrupted, it didn’t, she actually hung up and responded in even a more awful way when called out, remarking once again how she wasn’t even gonna try to be helpful. Ruined the stay and I moved hotel as I was just disgusted by this behaviour and professional approach, hospitality really isn’t for everyone. Thank you tho.

Ambiance was amazing, staff was so sweet and welcoming! Cocktails were made to perfection. I definitely enjoyed my birthday here.

This place has certainly evolved in the year or two that it has been open and I'm not sure what to think about it. For reference, I used to come here a year ago, January/February 2023 and this place was lit! The DJs were playing the latest hits, people were dancing, bottles were flowing, promoters were at every other table, it was a vibe. It was the place to be. And that is no more. Today(a Saturday) I walked in as usual and was met with mellow music and tables of mostly women, only 2 or 3 to a table, clearly looking like a casual meet to catch up over an over priced drink and talk. It wasn't the fun party rooftop I remember being a part of last year and while sure, I might ask a date to take me here now, it seems perfect for couples and girls nights catching up over a cocktail, it wasn't the vibe I expected or wanted on a Saturday night. I'm also disappointed in the service and confusion with menu prices. When I had walked through and finally relegated myself to a drink from the bar I asked for the brut rose which was on the menu for $20, but upon receiving my receipt was actually $25+tax. I was confused and slightly upset, I'm not sure if perhaps it was supposed to be a cocktail and I left out a word that would let them know that (but it was on the menu under the bubbly title so I don't get why they would do that if it was a cocktail?) or what, but I had asked a bartender for it and she replied "okay, just give me a minute" and proceeded to pour multiple drinks in about 5 minutes and then asked a different bartender to serve me. When I received my bill I was surprised, but not enough to cause a scene and fight with a bartender at what has seemingly rebranded itself as an intimate rooftop bar with a very mediocre view, so I paid it and left. I left completely confused and unsatisfied. I felt mislead by the menu prices and utterly surprised at the seemingly sudden vibe switch up. Had I known there was a complete rebrand, I would not have come here and certainly do not plan on coming alone as a single woman ever again. Overall I don't think I would go here again. They left behind the fun party vibe and are now just another "rooftop" midtown bar that serves overpriced drinks.

Second visit. Tried a few of the drinks this time. Avalanche and Not New York Sour were super refreshing. Good selection of beer and wine too for a rooftop. Heard they are doing s'mores and hot cocoa soon. Definitely will be back for nightlife as it looks like they host quite a few celebrities

Came with a friend for an after work drink and was pleasantly surprised. The views and cocktails were so amazing and the staff were all very friendly! Easily one of the best espresso martinis I have ever had in the city. I will definitely be back!

Came here after work with some friends and had spiked hot chocolate and s'mores (I think it's a special?). It was so fun because they give you your own little fire to roast the marshmallows on. Total vibe with the snow.
