Absolutely the best. I haven't been to the Middle East so I can't compare, but this is absolutely the best hummus I've had in my life. So light and fluffy. I daydream about it sometimes. While the hummus is divine, the staff make the place truly impeccable. Everyone is such a kind and beautiful soul. I see why it's called Sunshine. It could be the gloomiest, coldest day in Manhattan, and surely enough, this place will cheer you up. :)

This is the best hummus in nyc. Coming from a hummus lover, it honestly doesn't get much better than this. It's the perfect consistency and has the perfect amount of chickpeas to tahini. A true gem!

The hummus is good here but I don't know if it can settle for a full entree. There isn't enough pita bread e served for the amount of hummus you get. Definitely would not bring a group of friends here. Service is good but food would not recommend. It's more of a snack place rather than a lunch or dinner place.

With (much) respect to 12 Chairs, 19 Cleveland, and many others who try their best, this adorable little restaurant is the only place in NYC where you can get actual stellar hummus even by Israeli standards. The prices are amazing, the quality is unquestionable, the free coffee and tea along with pickles and splices are just the thing to make you feel transported to a tiny place in south Tel Aviv. Been living in NYC and New York metro area for over 10 years, and this is the first place that actually does it right.

I liked their food in a past but didn't get a chance to try it today. After waiting for a menu for 10 minutes in a half empty place (there were 6-7 people total), I didn't have enough time to eat my lunch. The waitress, who had been ignoring me, said she was too busy and passively aggressively wished me a good day, twice.

I've ordered from them a couple of times from MealPal, and they are just so delicious and filling. They're also very friendly, and the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. I particularly love the olive bar that they have there - not something you typically see in the city. It's definitely a place I would send people to if they were curious about a quick place to have a nice meal.

I was going to give this place three stars, but the staff was so sweet and wonderful I have to give them four. The hummus is good, but it's in that weird spot of "bigger than a snack, but not big enough to be a meal." That said, the staff was so nice, offering extra pita and asking if I wanted different music played.
