We celebrated my friend’s birthday here, the staff is definitely 10/10, very cool Chef who has been making sushi for 20+ years, IMAX who is the coolest bartender and made such a beautiful unicorn drink for us, and birthday Mochi on the house. Also shout out to the beautiful hostess Beatrice and Ray who made the whole dining experience super special. ❤️❤️❤️Would definitely come back and celebrate special memories with my friends here.

This place is such a vibe! Great cocktails, great service and was able to get a same-day last minute omakase reservation. Being new to NY they even recommended places to go, and I’m so excited to come back.

The way you enter the restaurant is unique, so it may be worth going for tourists who want to enjoy that, but if you're looking for the taste of sushi, I'd recommend going to another restaurant where you can take your time and relax rather than here, where you can only sit for an hour. We ate while feeling dissatisfied with the way the man who appeared to be the manager treated us. The other staff were kind though. There was also a rule that didn't make any sense: ``Eat sushi with your hands, but eat ginger with chopsticks.'' why? I ate everything with chopsticks ?I didn't notice any Japanese chefs or staff during my visit; instead, the team seemed to be primarily Hispanic which doesn't bother me who prepares it as long as they provide a great sushi and service. Actually my sushi chef was great and fish was fresh except their watery Uni. However, I did have some concerns about the manager's demeanor. Upon arrival, we were cautioned about being careful with the interior decor, which felt unnecessary as we hadn't interacted with anything yet. We paid $625 for the 1 hour visit — 3 Omakase $100 meals, 3 beers, and a $130 Daiginjo sake bottle plus tip. Considering you can sit at counter only 1 hour, I would not recommend.

By far the best omakase experience I've had in NYC. I went with my partner to celebrate our anniversary and we do omakase a lot since it's our favorite. This place blew our mind — you have to do the bougie omakase at the counter — SO AMAZING. The ambiance, staff, quality of food and chef was truly outstanding and so affordable. I'll be a regular here and can't wait to be back soon.

Had an absolutely fabulous time at Sushi by Bou. The sushi was out-of-this-world, the environment sophisticated and chic. Everything was flawless for a birthday dinner. Highly recommend! Oh, and loved the maître d behind the counter at the "dry cleaner" entry.

Perfect omakase experience. Chic and cozy little spot that is hidden behind the back door of a florist shop like the speakeasies of old. GREAT cocktails and creative presentation per piece. Very impressed by the customer service as well. Will be back!

The food was really good for the price, and the chef's service was pleasant. The server's service was okay, nothing extraordinary, just normal. However, when I left a 20% tip, the server's reaction clearly showed he wasn't satisfied. He didn't even say goodbye when I left. Overall, it was a good experience, except for that last part.
