Truly amazing experience! We come to New York around Christmas for weekend every year and every year we try a new place. This by far is the best experience we’ve had. Wonderful flavors, great courteous service. My taste buds were in ecstatic state for the rest of the night! The way each course flavors are opening in mouth..just unbelievable!

I had very high expectations for Sushi Saikou as the reviews proved to be stellar. It is very difficult nowadays to have a beaming full 5 stars, especially over a generous volume of reviews. Also to preface, the staff was very kind in accommodating my party quantity when my girlfriend suddenly felt sick. They had no issues swapping from 2 people to 3 people and didn't charge any negative fees despite it being last minute.

The host was quite kind and helped to make me, as well as my parents, feel comfortable when we arrived. When it was time to eat, the ambience of the room and counter was very calming and peaceful. The only thing I can say is perhaps it was a little cold.

The chef was very passionate in his work and always conversed with the patrons, while cracking a joke here and there. The servers constantly paid careful attention and supplied anything that was needed whether it be water, wine or napkins etc. I'm well aware this is the minimum but they were really diligent with this.

The host from before would also walk around and strike up conversations whether it be about how a particular wine tasted or which sashimi piece was the best in our opinions at certain points during our dinner.

You aren't just eating excellent food as you're genuinely surrounded by great people who want your experience to be splendid

However, service only goes a long way as the food has to be the main focus. And for this, I have no words. There were several piece that I ate that generally made my head explode and hands go up. The otoro with caviar and black truffle as well as A5 Wagyu were such pieces and they were simply legendary. This is not to say the other pieces were that far behind. Everything was just so good and the chef genuinely has a passion for this as he prepared each piece meticulously with specific ingredients and garnishes that complement the sashimi pieces.

I want to end off by saying thank you to the staff as they prepared a nice little sushi cake for me in commemoration of my birthday as well as the matcha panna cotta, which to be honest is the best matcha dessert I've ever eaten, maybe on par with Tonchin's Kakigori.

The service and hospitality are bar none. Chef Alvin, the manager Julian, and all of the other chefs and staff create an atmosphere that adds to the already top notch menu.

Each bite is better than the last, and it doesn’t hurt that your sake glass is never empty. Best quality and value in the city. Cannot wait to come back!

AMAZING omakase for the price. $120 for a 17-course meal (3 appetizer, 13 fish, 1 dessert). All appetizers were super flavorful and worth the money (Wagyu tartare, oyster, sashimi) and each nigiri was more fish than rice, paired with light seasonings that went perfectly with the fish. Standouts were the Otoro, Wagyu, hotate, uni, and madai. We came for an anniversary, and the staff was super accommodating of the celebration and gave us a complimentary dish. The waitresses checked in constantly, and every conversation that was sparked felt fulfilling and engaging.

There is a lounge area in the front to relax if you are waiting or need to decompress after the omakase which I really appreciated.

Alvin was a great host and chatty; and the waitresses were super patient and knowledgeable about sake pairings.

Of all the omakase places I've been to, it seems like it's been a while since I'd like to revisit one. I was very satisfied with the price, and the desserts were especially delicious, so I definitely have to come again!

Pros: high quality fish, excellent sake
Cons: every piece of nigiri was heavily doctored with toppings. Not always a problem, but I think they overdo it, particularly as someone who doesn’t like shiso. Smallest uni nigiri I’ve been served anywhere. Surprised the menu didn’t include any salad or chawanmushi, just twelve pieces of nigiri, three poke-esque appetizers, and a small dessert. The whole experience is very rushed, which is typical of omakase, but an extra 20-30 minutes per seating would make the experience a lot more enjoyable.

One of the nicest, and most friendliest omakase spots in NYC. Great price for an amazing experience. Quality of the food was beyond any expectations. Been there twice and already booked my third
