I've been to the West side location and got to try this location for the first time. I would recommend it. Very good value and kind restaurant team. I would say this is the best omakase experience in New York at this price point.

The target audience seems to young locals on a budget who don't mind the lack of service, decor, consistency. We were surprised to enter what looked like an escape room- groups of kids perched in an undecorated industrial box with a strong BO smell and non-working ventilation. None of the staff were Japanese. Not for anyone with any true Omakase dining experience. You'll be as shocked as we were.

Great value for the price. Did feel rushed as it is only a 1 hour time slot but for $68 it felt like a steal getting 17 pieces. Had a hard time hearing the sushi chef.

Great place to stop by for a simple omakase lunch. Theres a small seating counter in the back for about 10-12 people. We had 10 pieces of fish with 2 rolls. The fish of the day was mackeral and fluke. Some of my favorites were the torched sable fish and scallop. Service was great and the staff were friendly.

Sushi W in the upper East side offers a dining experience where exceptional quality meets unmatched value, especially evident in their omakase offerings. The standout $110 deal for a premium omakase, complete with two appetizers, a beer, and extra nigiri, showcases the flexibility and affordability at the heart of their menu. This isn't a fixed package; it's the culmination of selecting generous add-ons, demonstrating the establishment's capacity to cater to varied appetites and preferences without inflating the bill. The real draw here is the menu's adaptability, allowing patrons to indulge in a high-end sushi experience or enjoy a more modest meal without compromising on the caliber of their dining experience. The core of Sushi W's appeal lies in its culinary precision and the freshness of its ingredients. The seared Arctic char is just one highlight in a menu replete with carefully crafted sushi that prioritizes flavor, texture, and presentation. The operation, led by a skilled Japanese chef within a diverse team, emphasizes quality and skill over nationality, challenging preconceived notions about authenticity in cuisine. This approach ensures each dish reflects a commitment to excellence and innovation, offering a diverse palette of flavors that cater to both traditionalists and adventurous diners alike. The ambiance and service at Sushi W enhance the overall dining experience, striking a balance between efficiency and comfort. The staff's professionalism ensures that every meal progresses smoothly, from seating to payment, emphasizing customer satisfaction without unnecessary frills. This environment, devoid of rush yet attentive to detail, supports a dining philosophy that values customer experience, quality dishes, and accessible pricing. Sushi W emerges not just as a place for good sushi but as a beacon for those seeking an affordable entry into premium omakase dining in the city, redefining expectations for value and quality in the culinary landscape.

Honestly not sure how this has a 4.9 rating. The quality isn’t that good, even considering a cheap price. I’d compare it to a Sushi by Bou without the atmosphere.

Great value omakase! $53 for normal or $68 for premium (which just means a few extra pieces, no specialty ingredients like uni or caviar if you were expecting that). Good quality fish and good service! Felt a little rushed but great if you’re looking for <1hr dining time! Loved the option of sake pairing as well for three 3oz pours for $24 total - great touch.Would recommend!

Reviewing their East side location. It is new, but I went there 4 times already, which tells you that I do like it. However, while we were really impressed with our first two visits, the size of their pieces shrank over the last two visits noticeably. I thought it was an off day at first, but yday was the same. Very disappointing, the pieces have gotten so small that we left hungry. I will stop recommending this place to my friends going forward.

Such a gem! We did the premium set and it was worth it. 17 pieces and each distinctive in flavor. The ingredients are very fresh. When you walk by you won’t think much of it, but when you go in and are seated, the chefs are preparing in front of you in the back area! We will be back!

Alrighty, time to come back down to reality from the 4.9 rating Im witnessing here and review for real, and not like the half reviews that are friends/family/paid whatever.I came on 1/17/24 for lunch.Lets start with the ambiance of the place.... well, what ambiance? there is none. no warmth, no sexy, well not much of anything really, its missing clinical lighting and it would be a straight up hospital room. Barry White spotify soundtrack was a nice touch.Lets get to the sushi.. With our regular set menu (nothing extra) there was no otoro, chutoro, the regular maguro wasnt fresh enough for an omakase, the yellowtail same, and same for hotate, the slicing was thin, to save money obviously..i had to ask for more rice in the nigiri 3 times, the request went unfulfilled, the point of this exercise was to not give you enough so you order extra nigiri at normal prices at the end. ok didnt fall for that. The little sushi wraps? what is that? atleast do a handroll normally like a normal omakase. If youre a sushi connoisseur, dont be fooled by this, im not hating, just the level is not there.

Amazing sushi, best I've had in the city for less than an arm and a leg. The variety of sashimi was incredible. The dining experience was also a lot of fun.
